摘要: A manifold for a steam system is provided with a body forming a first chamber extending between an inlet and an outlet along a first axis and a second chamber extending from a face of the body along a second axis to intersect the first chamber. A first piston valve sub-assembly is disposed in the second chamber to enable and disable steam communication between the second chamber and a first port. A second piston valve sub-assembly is disposed in the second chamber to enable and disable steam communication between the second chamber and a second port. A handle is mounted for rotation relative to the face. A valve stem is connected to the handle and mounted for translation within the second chamber in response to rotation of the handle between four positions to individually activate and deactivate the first piston valve sub-assembly and the second piston valve sub-assembly.

摘要: There is provided, in a thermostatic steam trap that can operate in either of two modes merely dependent upon which way round the trap is connected in a steam flow line, a temperature-responsive element (9) in which there is a valve member (23) that projects from a housing (16) of the element (10) to an extent dependent upon movement of a diaphragm (19) within the housing (16). Movement of the valve member (23) out of the housing (16) to close on a seat (6) is opposed by a spring clip (8), arms (14) of which embrace the outside of the housing (16), so that if the diaphragm (19) fails the trap as a whole fails with the valve (23/6) open. Conveniently the spring clip (8) serves a further function in that lugs (15) of the clip locate on a wall of the valve seat (6) to locate the element (9) in the trap.

摘要: In addition to a deformable disk membrane with a valve seat on a portion of a flange immediately surrounding a discharge opening, there is provided a similarly deformable annular disk membrane on a valve seat surrounding that of the disk membrane set back into the flange surface by at least the thickness of the annular disk membrane somewhat obliquely to form a wedge-shaped flow channel communicating with the inlet opening for the working medium. The two membranes are clamped together at their outer edges with an O-ring and a cap providing the chamber for the control medium. The annular membrane operates as a built-in check valve when back pressure of the condensate pushes the disk membrane off its seat, the annular membrane remaining on its seat and blocking the inlet opening against backflow.

摘要: A condensate trap (2) comprises a valve disposed within a casing comprising a peripheral wall (3) and end walls (6,7). Each end wall has an aperture (9,10) for the passage of fluid into and out of the casing, the end walls having mutually parallel flat end surfaces (14) for clamping between two flanges (5) in a fluid line (4). Connection means (11,12) external to the condensate trap (2) connect the flanges (5) allowing simple installation and removal of the trap (2) in existing fluid lines which include a flanged connection.

摘要: A drain valve has a construction such that ascent and descent of a drain valve head for opening and closing a discharge port are effected by a combination of two coiled springs, one of which is made of a shape memory effect alloy. The drain valve head is supported so that it is capable of ascending and descending by an inside and outside dual structure of attachment of the two springs alone. Thus, it is made possible to simplify a drain valve construction and to miniaturize a drain valve per se.

摘要: In a bellows-actuated thermostatic steam trap (A) having a bellows (41) carrying a valve member (45) of a valve (45/22) for opening and closing the trap, the bellows is disposed between connections (20/21 and 30/31) which are identical to one another so as to be selectively connectable in a steam flow line with the valve (45/22) disposed either downstream of, or upstream of, the bellows (41). The trap includes a metal housing (11/12), the mass of which constitutes at least 70% of the mass of the trap. The trap operates, when connected with the valve disposed downstream of the bellows, in a first mode in which, in normal operation, the trap discharges condensate at a temperature close to saturated steam temperature. When connected with the valve disposed upstream of the bellows, the valve operates in a second mode in which in normal operation condensate is discharged at a temperature significantly below steam temperature. One or other of these modes can be simply obtained, merely be selecting which way round the trap is connected in a flow line.

摘要: A steam trap allowing the escape of condensate from a working fluid of steam comprises an escape valve mounted in a chamber in which the working fluid flows. The escape valve includes a valve seat member and a deformable metal diaphragm normally closing the steam trap and preventing the escape of steam. The diaphragm closes a housing in which a control fluid of water initially only partially fills the housing to which a vacuum is later applied. The housing bears along the periphery of the diaphragm where the diaphragm is supported by a shoulder in the valve seat member. The valve seat member includes a cylindrical central chamber radially inwardly of the valve seat and an annular chamber radially outwardly of the valve seat. The cylindrical chamber is larger in diameter than and upstream of an escape passageway for carrying away condensate also in the valve seat member. The annular chamber is in communication through a check valve and passages with the chamber in which the escape valve is mounted. Accordingly the pressure of the working fluid is exerted against the corresponding outer annular portion of the diaphragm in communication with the annular chamber and preponderates over the pressure in the enclosures when there is condensate in the chamber in which the steam is mounted.
