In addition, a cord holder about the external surface of the light's housing and twist lock base and housing with a radial O-ring seal provide for quick and easy disassembly and re-installation of the light.

Disclosed is a means and method for attaching an automotive lighting lens to the housing of an automotive lighting assembly while a structural adhesive cures. An automotive lighting assembly has a recessed hollow portion dimensioned to enclose one or more light fixtures and an open end with a peripheral edge. Formed around the periphery of the housing is a sealing groove and a plurality of engaging openings adjacent the groove. The engaging openings have a plurality of protuberances projecting into the opening, the protuberances providing a reduced area of clearance within the engaging opening. A covering lens has an exterior edge and a flange dimensioned to extend into and mate with the sealing groove formed around the edge of the lens. A plurality of projections are formed on the lens and positioned to coincide and mate with the engaging openings and dimensioned to have a cross section that causes the projections to engage the protuberances to produce frictional engagement and retention when the projections are inserted into the engaging openings. A curable adhesive is positioned within the sealing groove. When the lens is pressed onto the housing, the flange mates with the groove, and the projections frictionally engage the openings so that the lens is retained in position until the curable adhesive cures sealing the flange in the groove.

A vehicular lamp in which bonding failure between a front lens and a lamp body is prevented while enhancing the bonding strength and improving the quality of the outer appearance around the bonded surface therebetween. An edge surface of a seal leg of the front lens and a receiving surface of a lamp body are bonded together by laser beam welding so as to improve the quality of the outer appearance of the portion around the bonded surfaces. The bonded surface is inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to the bonding direction. Even if the edge surface of the seal leg or the receiving surface has a wave-like irregularity such that gaps are created in areas therebetween, the pressure in the bonding direction acting on the members to be bonded causes slippage between them, resulting in sealing the gaps. The beam spot diameter of a laser beam irradiated onto the receiving surface is increased in an amount corresponding to the angle of inclination of the bonded surface, thus increasing the bonding width and enhancing the bonding strength.

A device for attracting and/or repelling fish comprises an array of visible light emitting diodes encased in a water resistant, protective housing which is substantially transparent to the visible light emitted by the diodes. In one preferred embodiment, a cylindrical housing containing the diode array is attached to a float, on the upper surface of which is provided a photovoltaic module which charges a battery located in a lower portion of the housing. In other preferred embodiments, the device is adapted to be submerged below the surface of a body of water and is connected to a remote power supply. The device is preferably used to attract fish, with the diodes emitting visible light in the green, blue and violet regions of the visible spectrum.

A newly constructed fishing lamp is disclosed. It is capable of reducing the production cost and simplifying fabrication process by fabricating several essential parts integrally in one piece so as to save use of extra separated components. Several O-rings are employed to hermetically seal the lamp housing to assure the perfect watertight feature. A durable, colorful, and power saving LED-flash is selected as the light source to emit diffused light-imitating as that of planktons to tempt fish group approaching with the consumption of very small amount of power. A specially designed 360° turnable bearing including a suspension ring to hang the fishing lamp thereby capable of preventing lamps from overturning in the water stream incurring kinking of fishing rope or curling of fishing line that leads to a broken rope or line.

The present invention provides a novel waterproof head assembly specifically designed for LED sources. The rounded end surfaces of the LED are exposed to the outside environment through apertures formed in a solid end wall of the head assembly. To prevent water from entering into the interior of the flashlight through the apertures, the present invention discloses filling the interior cavity of the head with a sealant which substantially entirely fills all of the gaps between the outside surfaces of the LED's, the inside surfaces of the apertures, and the inside surfaces of the open end of the head assembly.

A high intensity light is mounted and sealed in a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) receptacle and extension system. The receptacle is adapted to be anchored on the bottom of a channel or an underwater area adjacent to a structure which provides alternating current (AC) power from a shoreside mains. The high intensity lamp may be sealed within a transparent enclosure, but is preferably left exposed to minimize sealife growth on the lamp. The PVC receptacle is preferably weighted, such as for example with concrete, to help anchor the receptacle to the bottom. The receptacle further includes rebar extending from the receptacle to penetrate the hard pack below the silt on the bottom.
