摘要： A firelog burner is provided that includes a base and an artificial firelog support frame pivoted to the base. A pair of non-burning artificial firelogs are removably mounted on the support frame. The base has a fire directing member extending along a back thereof and in an upward direction for directing flame between the artificial fire logs. The non-burning artificial fire logs in the support frame are operably pivoted above the base and toward the flame directing member to raise the support frame and the non-burning artificial firelogs for the insertion of placement of a burning artificial firelog in the base. The firelogs and support frame may then be pivoted in the opposite direction to an operating position.

摘要： An inclined grate construction or apparatus in the combustion chamber of a combustion furnace, comprising a plurality of adjacent grate tubes in the longitudinal direction of the grate, said tubes being welded together through flat bars. Below the grate is disposed a grate bar carriage, which, in use, reciprocates horizontally respective to the grate. The grate bar carriage supports at least one grate bar, which is pushed through the grate via an opening in the flat bar between two adjacent grate tubes when the grate bar carriage moves towards the grate. The grate bar carriage is also vertically displaceable.

摘要： A furnace for burning dry or wet wood waste products such as hogged bark and the like is provided with a grating therein comprised of aligned rows of bricks resting on supporting cross beams, with at least some of the rows of bricks maintained a uniform distance from other rows of bricks by spacers disposed between such spaced-apart rows of bricks. The furnace is charged by turbulent air entering both above and below the grating, with a select portion of such air being pre-heated. A temperature gradient is established between an area immediately beneath the grating and the area above the grating in the range of 2200.degree. F. and can be controlled by selected initial placement of the bricks and spacers to achieve an optimum cross sectional area for flow of heated, turbulent air through the grating to produce a temperature for efficient heating, drying and burning of wood waste products in an essentially pollution-free manner.
