    摘要: The invention relates to a combustion device for wood or coal comprising a front wall with a fuel charging opening, two side walls, a rear wall, a bottom wall, a top wall, a door for the fuel charging opening, a control element for controlling a fresh-air inlet opening, an inner dividing wall which divides the interior of the device into a pre-combustion chamber and a post-combustion chamber, and a passage opening between the two chambers and a grating at the bottom of the pre-combustion chamber and a flue gas discharge opening; the dividing wall is horizontally disposed and a shaft pipe surrounded by an annular chamber which is in communication with the fresh-air inlet opening is inserted sealingly into its passage opening; the grating is placed on its upper end. The shaft pipe tapers in its cross-section downwardly, the annular chamber is disposed between the outer side of the shaft pipe and the inner side of an outer jacket pipe of the annular chamber and the lower ends of the shaft pipe and of the outer jacket pipe of the annular chamber are connected via a cylindrical or prismatic pipe having air passage openings for the constructionally simple design and optimum combustion conditions.

    摘要: A furnace having a primary heat exchange unit also providing a combustion chamber, a secondary heat exchange unit connected by an upper crossover conduit to the primary heat exchange unit, and a tertiary heat exchange unit connected by a lower V-shaped crossover conduit to the secondary heat exchange unit. A third crossover conduit connects the V-shaped crossover conduit with the primary heat exchange unit. Vibrating means are provided between the secondary and tertiary heat exchange units to vibrate the walls thereof and dislodge clinging fly ash so that it falls into the V-shaped crossover conduit for removal by the screw conveyor. A burner assembly of a furnace includes a combustion air housing carrying a circular, stationary grate with an annular valley for carrying fuel during combustion. A central opening is connected to a fuel conveyor for introduction of fuel to the grate through the lower portion of the housing. Combustion air introduction conduits on the housing are remote from the fuel introduction passages and introduce air under pressure at the lower portion of the grate. An agitator and discharge ring is provided on the grate and is rotated on the grate by a suitable drive sprocket mechanism to agitate the fuel for more complete burning thereof and to remove burned ash. A horizontal burner plate is supported by a plurality of legs connected to the agitator and discharge ring over the grate to promote more complete combustion of the fuel.

    摘要: Solid fuel such as coal is fed into an inlet shaft of the furnace through a rotary feeder constructed to prevent the admission of air. Primary air channels supply the major part of the air required for combustion of the fuel in a region in which the fuel bed is sufficiently thick to avoid disturbance and the formation of "holes" by this air. Further, narrower air channels supply sufficient, diffused and low velocity air to complete the combustion of the fuel without substantial entrainment of grit and ash. Air is prevented from flowing in contact with the fuel up stream of the primary channels and the metering edge.

    摘要: A furnace and associated heat storage assembly includes a firebox arranged within a rock storage area that incorporates a recirculating flue arrangement for returning unburned gases to below a fuel grate for mixing with fresh inlet air. The rock in the heat storage area is heated by conduction of heat from the firebox, circulating flue gases and a smoke exhaust flue. Inlet air is preheated. An open grate arrangement provides for efficient burning of solid as-producing fuel. A system for circulating air and/or liquid through the rock can be provided, as can a water storage tank.
