A continuous heat treatment furnace capable of simply preventing mixing of atmospheric gases in the rapid cooling zone and the atmospheric gas in the zone (heating zone, cooling zone or the like) adjacent with the rapid cooling zone of a gas jet cooling system, and a method of controlling the atmospheric gas in the furnace capable of preventing nitridation are provided.

More specifically, the invention is directed to a lid configured to consecutively run CVI/CVD and heat treatment processes without opening the furnace. The susceptor lid according to the invention comprises: a susceptor lid body having a gas exhaust hole, the susceptor lid body having a top surface and a bottom surface; and an exhaust lid disposed over the gas exhaust hole, with a clearance between the exhaust lid and the gas exhaust hole such that exhaust gas pressure within the clearance is approximately equal to, or less than the exhaust gas pressure within the gas exhaust hole, the exhaust lid being positioned to block the majority of the radiation from below the bottom surface of the susceptor lid body.

    摘要: A warp resistant fuel feed door assembly for use in injecting supplemental fuel into a high temperature combustion chamber such as a rotating cement kiln without substantial loss of heat or combustion gases. The apparatus, which is positioned on the exterior side of a fuel passage transecting the wall of a rotating kiln, opens to receive fuel and then seals during the balance of the rotation of the kiln. Warping, bearing fracture, shaft distortion and jamming due to exposure to extreme heat and cooling are minimized by the sectional construction of the doors. The door includes a plate positioned over the mouth of the passage, a plurality of support arms attached to the plate and a hinge shaft attached to the arms. Stresses on the door structure from inconsistent expansion of the plate are reduced due to symmetrically spaced oblong and oversized bolt attachment bores in the support arms. Synchronous opening of the feed doors is achieved by levered rotation of the hinge shafts by an electric motor. Selective introduction of supplemental fuel into a rotating kiln can be controlled by electrical actuation of the feed doors.

    摘要: An inner combustion chamber access door member for a fuel-fired water heater has main and pilot burner structures respectively supported thereon by gas supply tubes sealingly extending through and anchored to the door member, and is further provided with a wire pass-through tube and a sight glass opening. Subsequently, a sight glass structure is snapped into the sight glass opening to complete the installation of the door/burner assembly. Thermocouple and igniter wires extend through the pass-through tube, and are sealed therein by a laterally split resilient cylindrical sealing plug member.
