    Abstract: The device of the present disclosure is a weapon. The weapon having a CO2 powered projectile which is fired from the weapon, used principally for self-defense. The projectile is generally rocket shaped wherein the front end of the rocket can be formed by a rounded shape of a front of a CO2 cylinder. The impact of the rocket projectile on a human could cause some pain, depending upon exactly what part of the body it hits. The impact could also cause some loss of balance to a human, due to the impact.

    Abstract: A compact firearm has a first frame portion including a barrel defining a barrel axis, a second frame portion including a firing mechanism configured to discharge a cartridge residing in a chamber of the barrel, the second frame portion pivotally connected to the first frame portion to pivot about a pivot axis offset from and parallel to the barrel axis, the first frame portion defining a first mating feature formed as a first surface of revolution about the pivot axis, the second frame portion defining a second mating feature formed as a second surface of revolution about the pivot axis, and the first and second mating features mating closely with each other to prevent relative movement between the first and second frame portions except in relative rotation about the pivot axis. The first and second mating features may be dovetail elements.

    Abstract: A firearm operating system includes a firing pin having a first end and a second end. An operating rod assembly includes an operating rod, a lug positioned at a first end of the operating rod, and a firing pin retainer extending from the lug. A bolt carrier includes a bolt carrier pocket structured to receive the firing pin retainer, and a bolt carrier cam pin opening. A bolt is structured to be received in the bolt carrier. The bolt includes a bolt cam pin opening. A cam pin is structured to be positioned through the bolt carrier cam pin opening and into the bolt cam pin opening. The first end of the firing pin extends through a firing pin opening of the cam pin to retain the cam pin. The firing pin retainer of the operating rod assembly engages the second end of the firing pin so as to retain the firing pin.

    Abstract: Systems for a firearm are provided to increase safety, reduce complexity, and improve precision of the weapon. In general, examples of the systems including a safe axis firing pin that prevents unintended discharge are described herein, where the firing pin is not aligned with the primer of a chambered cartridge until the user intends to fire the firearm. Embodiments of the system are capable of modular installation and generally include a user-actuated trigger configured to displace the firing pin from a safe axis to a firing axis, by rotation, translation, or a combination thereof. Additional features are provided to prevent displacement of the firing pin by input other than the trigger, e.g., if the firearm is dropped. In another aspect, examples of the systems described herein include a barrel interfacing a slide where the barrel and slide include features to centrally align the barrel as the slide completes a cycle.
