摘要: This invention relates to a system including a scale that weighs an item placed on the scale and encodes the weight and/or other item information into a machine readable code. The system may include a display that is coupled to the scale and displays the machine readable code. The scale may encode the item in Quick Response (QR) code format, Universal Product Code (UPC) format, and/or other computer-readable format. A mobile device may take a picture of or otherwise scan the machine readable code to determine the weight and/or other information encoded therein. The system may include a wireless transmitter that wirelessly transmits the weight. The mobile device may include a wireless receiver that wirelessly receives the weight transmitted from the scale. The mobile device may execute a self-scan application that uses the de-encoded or otherwise obtained weight for pricing the item based on the weight or other purposes.

摘要: A pendulum scale has a scale beam carrying an optical microscale and a sample pan assembly including plural weight hangers. Weights are provided, and are carried by either the weight hangers or weight retaining elements. A light source illuminates the optical microscale, and portions of the light are received by photocells, the signals from which are representative of the scale beam position; these signals are supplied to a decoder which controls which weights are carried by the weight hangers and which weights are carried by the retaining elements. Preferably, a first lesser sensitive scale beam and a second greater sensitive scale beam are cumulatively engaged with the sample pan assembly. A digital read-out device is connected with the decoder to provide a read-out of the weight of a sample placed in the sample pan of the sample pan assembly.

摘要: In a computer weigher, an optical device is used to detect the position of balance of the weigher mechanism by measuring the rotary position of a drum connected to the weigher mechanism. On thedrum, a Gray code chart is arranged around the periphery of the drum with several channels extending axially. A mounting block is adjustably positioned adjacent to the drum and is used to mount fiber optics and photoelectric measuring means. For each channel of code on the drum chart, a fiber optics bundle picks up reflected light at one end adjacent to the chart and transmits it to its other end at a photoelectric sensor. Binary coded signals are generated from the sensor outputs which accurately identify each drum position.

摘要: The present disclosure discloses a method for quick weighing of loose and small packages of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), comprising: 1) establishing an equivalent physical model of a weighing system for loose and small packages, and, through Laplace transformation and Z transformation, obtaining a formula of the mass M of medicine packages to be weighed; 2) calculating a1, a2, b1, and b2 on the basis of a vector prediction error; 3) according to a1, a2, b1, and b2 obtained and the formula of the mass of medicine packages to be weighed, obtaining the mass of the loose and small packages of TCM that are weighed. According to the method, the scalar prediction error is expanded into the vector prediction error based on the traditional method so as to construct a new identification model based on the vector prediction error, and as a result the utilization efficiency of prediction error turns higher.

摘要: A barcode scanner should output one scanned result per scanned item at checkout. Scanners with large scan areas and multiple scan lines may scan an item more than once as it is dragged through the scan area during the checkout process. A timeout period, during which duplicate scans are ignored, may prevent duplicate scans from being transmitted. Scanners with integrated weight scales may require the use of the scan area for a weight measurement. As a result, weighed items may linger in the scan area longer than the regular timeout period and may be re-scanned. The invention embraces a method and system for mitigating this problem by using information from the scanned barcode and information from the scale to affect how duplicate barcode scans are handled for items requiring a weight measurement and not adversely affected with speed of input as may result with gating and virtual gating with disable/enable scanning commands.
