摘要: An intravenous solution bag includes a temperature sensing device in the form of a temperature sensing strip. The strip includes a temperature scale and corresponding temperature sensitive substances that change color or illuminate the scale indicators to visually indicate solution temperature. The strip may be formed integral with the bag, may be attached to the bag exterior surface, may be laminated to the bag exterior surface or may be encased with the bag within a solution bag liner. Further, the temperature sensing strip may be affixed to bottles containing intravenous or other solutions, where the strip is attached to the bottle exterior surface or to a label affixed to the bottle to measure and indicate temperature of fluid contained therein as described above. Moreover, the temperature sensing strip may be employed by a receptacle or delivery tube of an infusion apparatus to measure and indicate solution temperature prior to or during infusion. In addition, the temperature sensing strip may be disposed within thermal treatment system compartments to measure and provide a visual indication of medical item temperatures. Alternatively, the strip may be employed by a stand, plate, receptacle or other structure receiving a medical item or container to provide a temperature measurement and indication as described above. The structure may be a stand-alone unit or may be attached to a thermal treatment or other system to facilitate temperature measurement.

摘要: A temperature sensor coupled to a supply of medication measures the temperature of the medication. A real time clock circuit is programmed with a start date and controller integrated circuitry controls operation of the clock and temperature sensor. The controller is programmed with medication temperature profile data that is specific to the medication. The controller integrates temperature and time data with medication temperature profile data for the medication to calculate an expiration date that corresponds to a potency condition for the medication.

摘要: Temperature-sensing apparatus is mounted within a wafer chuck to contact the underside surface of a wafer secured thereby. Photoluminescent material on a sensing element that is mounted in resilient contact with a wafer emits luminous flux in response to radiant-energy stimulation with a characteristic intensity that varies with time as a function of temperature. An optical channel couples radiant energy between the photoluminescent material and a remote optical analyzer that supplies pulses of radiant energy and receives the luminous flux to determine the temperature of the sensing element in contact with the wafer.

摘要: A method and system are provided for determining temperature of a low density gas seeded with molecules of iodine. The Cordes bands of the iodine molecules are excited with light energy of a known wavelength (e.g., between 175-210 nanometers) to generate fluorescent emission. At least a portion of the emission's light intensity is collected and used to generate an emission spectrograph. The spectrograph's vibrational energy level peaks are fitted to a vibrational Boltzmann distribution. Specifically, one of the vibrational energy level peaks associated with molecule population in a ground vibrational energy level at a wavelength greater than the known wavelength of the light energy is selected. Next, a plurality of ratios are generated that define a unique linear relationship for a temperature of the seeded environment. Each of these ratios is defined by a ratio of the selected one of the vibrational energy level peaks (in a ground vibrational energy level) to another unique peak (of the vibrational energy level peaks) associated with molecule population in a vibrational energy level that is greater than the ground vibrational energy level.

摘要: An apparatus for sensing the temperature of a fluid being drawn from a well includes a pipe having a wall, a sensor mounted on the outer surface of the pipe wall, an insulator, and a housing attached to the pipe that encloses the sensor and the insulator. The fluid to be sensed is drawn from the well through the pipe. The thermal conductivity of the pipe wall is greater than that of the insulator.

摘要: Fiber optic sensing systems and methods. In a described embodiment, a fiber optic sensing system includes an optical fiber transmitting energy to a chemical vapor deposited diamond material proximate a substance in a well. The diamond material is deposited as a coating on a substrate. The substrate and coating are heated when the energy is transmitted by the optical fiber. This heats the substance in the well, which is detected to determine a property of the substance. In another embodiment, light energy is transmitted through the diamond material.

摘要: An integrated fiber-optic tow cable is described having both optical fibers and armor wires located outside the cable core to avoid high strain on the optical fibers when the cables is under stress during deployment. The optical fibers have integral temperature sensors near the outermost portion in order to measure accurately the temperature of the fluid coming in contact with temperature sensors. A beam of light is shown on the optical fibers which is reflected by the optical fibers and reaches the receiver and processed by the processor which may also include a display unit.
