A dynamic projection light includes several projection units fixed in a housing and a controller used for sequentially turning on and turning off at least a part of the several projection units to produce at least one moving image. Each projection unit is used for projecting a preset image and includes an LED head, a magnifying lens configured in front of the LED head and configured for diffusing light from the LED head, an optical sheet configured in front of the magnifying lens and having a preset pattern, and a condenser lens configured in front of the optical sheet. By arranging different preset patterns of the optical sheets, utilizing the human visual persistence phenomenon, projected animation images of human or animal walking or running or jumping or swinging, or leaves or petals or snowflakes falling, or objects rolling et al. may be realized, having a strong appreciation.

The reproducing apparatus, such as a motion-picture film projector, stops recording medium transport in response to interrupt-transport frame markings on the recording medium and reproduces the thusly marked image frames as still images. Interrupt-transport frame markings are provided at the terminal frame of each motion-picture scene on the recording medium, or at each still-shot image frame on the recording medium, or both. The user of the reproducing apparatus can select automatic reproduction of motion-picture scenes interspersed with automatic still reproduction of still shots, and can additionally select automatic still reproduction of the terminal frame of each motion-picture scene.

The user of a motion-picture camera selects between motion-picture and single-exposure operation, and presses a release member to initiate shooting, letting go of it to terminate motion-picture shooting. Each time the user lets go of the release member, an internal device provides an interrupt-transport marking alongside the just exposed film frame, or phase shifted relative thereto. Alternatively, the interrupt-transport marking is provided the next time the user presses the release member. In this way, the terminal frame of each motion-picture scene, and each and every one of the interspersed single-exposure shots, is provided with an interrupt-transport frame marking. Thus, if the film is run through a reproducing apparatus provided with a marking detector, detection of each interrupt-transport marking during motion-picture reproduction causes the terminal frame of each motion-picture scene, and also each one of the still shots, to be persistently reproduced as a still image. The interrupt-transport markings could alternatively be provided by such a device in a reproducing apparatus.

A motion picture projector for use with magazines containing stacks of cassettes for motion picture film. The housing of the projector supports two coaxial takeup reels one of which assumes a collecting position and collects the film which is being withdrawn from a cassette in a projection position while the other takeup reel assumes a withdrawing position and pays out the film whose presentation is completed and which is being returned to the corresponding cassette. The takeup reels are caused to change positions in response to detection of the trailing portion of the film which is being presented, and such change in positions of the takeup reels take place simultaneously with a stepwise advance of the magazine so as to place a fresh cassette into the projection position while the preceding cassette assumes a position in which a rewinding mechanism rewinds onto its supply reel that film which is stored on the core of the takeup reel occupying the withdrawing position.

A copy of a motion picture film is prepared and provided with stop-motion coding in the form of a strip along the sprocket edge which includes emulsion-free segments. To accomplish this, an auxiliary light source is focused on the sprocket edge, and a shutter is moved into and out of blocking position to produce alternate emulsion-free and emulsion-covered segments along that edge. The shutter is operated by a solenoid under control of a relay. When the copy film is reproduced from a master film having stop-motion indicia in the form of successive notches indicating the start and finish respectively of a stop-motion segment, the relay embodies a push-push type of movement and is under the control of a microswitch which senses the notches and pulses the relay at the start and finish.
