    摘要: In order to evaluate the mechanical properties of steel, empirical equations showing the relationship between each of the tensile strength, yield point and elongation of steel and its hardness, grain size and chemical composition are determined in advance based on experimental results. Then, the hardness, grain size and chemical composition of the steel to be evaluated are determined. The tensile strength, yield point and elongation of the steel to be evaluated are determined by inserting the determined hardness, grain size and chemical composition in the empirical equations. In determining the energy absorbed according to a method of this invention, empirical equations showing the relationship between each of the shelf energy, transition temperature and temperature range of the energy transition region of steel and its hardness, grain size and chemical composition are determined in advance. Then, the hardness, grain size and chemical composition of the steel to be evaluated are determined. The shelf energy, transition temperature and temperature range of the energy transition region of the steel to be evaluated are then derived by inserting the determined hardness, grain size and chemical composition in the empirical equations. Finally, the energy absorbed at a given temperature is derived from the shelf energy, transition temperature and temperature range of the energy transition region thus determined.

    摘要: A system and method analyzes tonosignals and other electrical signals such as those representative of force-displacement information from applanating probes initially to determine the presence of an acceptable waveform or tonosignal. Once an acceptable waveform is found, that waveform is analyzed further to locate the point of applanation. The level of the waveform at that point may be converted to a digital signal and displayed to indicate the pressure within the eye or other objects to which the probe is applied.

    摘要: Disclosed is an instrument for calculating and reading out various parameters of tensile testing results. The instrument receives an input signal from the testing apparatus whose voltage is proportional to the elongation of the sample being tested and another input signal whose voltage is proportional to the force to which the sample is subjected. At the point of sample breakage the maximum elongation of the sample and maximum force applied to the sample is readily determined and signals proportional thereto are fed to a readout device. The instrument also includes means to calculate and display an indication of the work necessary to break the sample and in the event of cyclic testing, the area within the hysteresis loop resulting when the force is removed from the sample.

    摘要: A shock spectrum analysis and synthesis method and apparatus which includes the use of a shock spectrum analyzer and a shock spectrum synthesizer. The analyzer is a special purpose analog computer which provides an automatic shock spectrum analysis of both the primary and residual spectrum by solving the equation of motion for a single degree of freedom, mass-spring-damping system and displaying the output signals on an oscilloscope or X-Y recorder. The synthesizer generates a variable transient electrical input to a vibration shaker system by generating a plurality of steady-state signals each having a different frequency and gating and summing the signals.
