Abstract: Embodiments are provided for determining simulated optical microscopy images of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) stained tissue samples from stimulated Raman scattering microscopy (SRSM) images of frozen tissue samples. These embodiments include applying the SRSM images to a first generative model to generate simulated optical microscopy images of thawed, stained tissue samples corresponding to the SRS imaged tissue samples. The simulated optical microscopy images are then applied to a second generative model to generate simulated FFPE microscopy images of the frozen tissue samples. Training methods are also provided to (i) generate the first generative model using paired training datasets of SRSM images and optical microscopy images of thawed, stained tissue samples, with each SRSM image depicting the same respective tissue sample as a corresponding optical microscopy image; and (ii) generate the second generative model using a training dataset of FFPE microscopy images and images output from the first generative model.

Abstract: A deep learning-based virtual HER2 IHC staining method uses a conditional generative adversarial network that is trained to rapidly transform autofluorescence microscopic images of unlabeled/label-free breast tissue sections into bright-field equivalent microscopic images, matching the standard HER2 IHC staining that is chemically performed on the same tissue sections. The efficacy of this staining framework was demonstrated by quantitative analysis of blindly graded HER2 scores of virtually stained and immunohistochemically stained HER2 whole slide images (WSIs). A second quantitative blinded study revealed that the virtually stained HER2 images exhibit a comparable staining quality in the level of nuclear detail, membrane clearness, and absence of staining artifacts with respect to their immunohistochemically stained counterparts. This virtual staining framework bypasses the costly, laborious, and time-consuming IHC staining procedures in laboratory, and can be extended to other types of biomarkers to accelerate the IHC tissue staining and biomedical workflow.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable grid-based enrollment for face authentication. The techniques and systems include overlaying a three-dimensional (3D) tracking window over a preview image of the user's face displayed via a display device. The 3D tracking window includes a plurality of segments, which persist to correspond to an approximate direction that the user's face is facing. Based on the tracking, segments are highlighted to indicate the approximate direction that the user's face is facing, a camera captures enrollment images of the user's face facing that direction, and embeddings are generated based on the enrollment images and stored in a fixed grid of pose cells corresponding to various facial poses for use in face authentication. Responsive to generation and storage of the embeddings, an indication that the one or more segments are completed is provided.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a three-dimensional representation of a vehicle to assess damage to the vehicle. A mobile device may capture multispectral scans of a vehicle from each a plurality of cameras configured to scan the vehicle at a different wavelength of the electromagnetic spectrum. A virtual model of the vehicle may be generated from the multispectral scan of the vehicle, such that anomalous conditions or errors in individual wavelength data are omitted from model generation. A representation of the virtual model may be presented to the user via the display of the mobile device. The virtual model of the vehicle may further be analyzed to assess damage to the vehicle.

Abstract: A method of collecting and conditioning image data of an item for use in training a machine-learning model to detect at least one defect can include capturing a first set of images by a first camera with each image of the first set of images having a first viewpoint of the item that is the same viewpoint as the other images in the first set of images and can be illuminated by various wavelengths of light including ultraviolet light, infrared light, and visible light. The method can further include examining one image of the first set of images to determine if the item contains at least one defect, identifying a first location of the at least one defect on the one image, designating the first location on the other images of the first set of images so that all images in the first set of images identify the first location.

Abstract: An optical fingerprint sensor configured to be arranged under an at least partially transparent display panel comprises an array of color controllable light sources. The optical fingerprint sensor comprises an image sensor comprising a photodetector pixel array; an array of microlenses arranged under the color controllable light sources; a color filter layer arranged under the array of microlenses comprising alternating filter element types of different colors for adjacent subsets of pixels in the photodetector pixel array. The color controllable light sources are controllable, in response to a first finger condition, to emit light of uniform color being a mix of the colors of the filter elements, and in response to a second finger condition, to emit a color pattern including the colors of the filter elements, wherein groups of color controllable light sources are controlled to emit light corresponding to a color of the filter elements.
