    摘要: A cassette loading mechanism operable with first and second type similar size magnetic tape cassettes such as analog cassettes (CC) and digital cassettes (DCC) which are parallelepiped cassettes having a discontinuity on an external surface; the cassette loading mechanism having: a sensing mechanism which distinguishes between the types of cassettes, when correctly presented, and which blocks movement to the fully inserted position of cassettes mis-presented upside down or with sides inverted; the sensing mechanism including a cassette-type-sensing lever movable from an initial position to first and second positions representing, respectively, the type of cassette responsive to engagement with a surface discontinuity distinguishing the type of cassette correctly presented and inserted in the housing, and a movable slider member which is normally blocked against movement by the sensing lever, and prevents mis-presented cassettes being moved to the fully inserted position, and which is allowed to move with correctly presented cassettes to the fully inserted position when the sensing lever is moved from its initial position upon engagement with a correctly presented cassette.

    摘要: A cassette loading apparatus which eliminates a harness for the electric connection to a cassette insertion detecting switch. The cassette loading apparatus comprises a parallel quadrilateral link mechanism including first and second parallel links and third and fourth parallel links. A connecting pin between the first and third links is mounted on a stationary member on which the cassette insertion detecting switch is mounted. A switch operating element is provided on the third link for operating the cassette insertion detecting switch between on- and off-states. The first and second links have elongated holes formed along the length therein, and fitting pins on an actuating lever are loosely fitted in the elongated holes such that the actuating lever extends in parallel to the third link. The actuating lever is mounted for pivotal motion on a cassette holder by means of the first fitting pin and is positioned so as to be operated by a cassette inserted into the cassette holder to move between a cassette non-insertion detecting position and a cassette insertion detecting position to operate the switch operating element.

    摘要: A cassette holder houses a cassette to be loaded and is arranged to be movable along a substantially horizontal moving path. A cassette detecting member is arranged on the cassette holder and is set at an operative position and a nonoperative position in accordance with the presence/absence of the cassette. A loading mechanism selectively drives the cassette holder so as to load the cassette from an insertion position to a driving position and to unload the cassette from the driving position to an ejecting position. A plurality of lock members are arranged on the moving path of the cassette holder at predetermined intervals so as to lock the cassette detecting member by using one of the lock members when the cassette detecting member is set at the nonoperative position. A control portion allows the loading mechanism to perform loading in response to insertion of the cassette, allowing the loading mechanism to perform unloading in response to an ejecting operation, and switching a loading operation of the loading mechanism to an unloading operation when one of the plurality of lock members locks the cassette detecting member during execution of loading by the loading mechanism.

    摘要: A magnetic tape drive for insertion of a magnetic tape cartridge of the type having an access door pivotally mounted on a long side of the cartridge is disclosed. The cartridge is inserted through a slot in a front panel of a drawer with the long side of the cartridge parallel to the insertion direction. When the cartridge is inserted, the drawer is in an extended position and is held there by a drawer stopping mechanism. The cartridge is inserted through the slot onto the drawer as far as is permitted by a cartridge stopping mechanism. A rotatably mounted front door on the front panel of the drawer is then rotated closed and the access door of the cartridge is opened by a cam mounted on the front door in response to the rotation thereof. Cartridge and drawer release mechanisms then allow the cartridge and drawer to be fully inserted into a frame of the drive, and as the drawer and cartridge approach their operative positions in the drive, a magnetic head is moved into its operative position with respect to the cartridge in response to movement of the drawer. In addition, means for simultaneously detecting completion of insertion of the cartridge and drawer are provided.

The contacts (33, 34) are set to their second switching state via the latching member (20) when the latching member (20) is moved to release the cover (13).
