摘要： A slit for inserting a record disc is formed to extend from one side of the casing toward the other side so as to establish continuous communication between both sides and being parallel to the record disc carrying face of the turn table. A sound transmitting member carries a pair of stylus force releasing projections, and within the casing, a centering projection is resiliently supported and aforesaid stylus force releasing projections are disposed at the inlet portion of the slit for inserting a record disc, at the further interior part of this slit, the centering projection is positioned so that the centering projection and the stylus force releasing projections can be extended to intersect the slit for inserting a record disc. An ejector lever is also provided, which is disposed capable of being depressed form outside of the casing and extends into the record disc inserting slit and is able to eject, when depressed, both the stylus force releasing projections and the record disc being in engagement with the centering projection. A resiliently protruding record disc locking projection is disposed on the record disc carrying face, while the record disc is formed to have a notch engageable with the record disc locking projection.

摘要： The present invention provides a magnetic head of which magnetic core is composed of thin plates of a high magnetic permeability, each provided with an adhesive layer comprising a granular substance. In such structure, the stress relaxation achieved by said granular substance prevents the loss of effective magnetic permeability of said core, thereby improving the high frequency characteristics. Also the presence of said granular substance realizes a hardness in the vicinity of said adhesive higher than that of said thin plates of a high magnetic permeability, thereby improving the abrasion resistance of said core. Furthermore said adhesive layer is rendered satisfactorily thinner than said thin plate to prevent the loss of sensitivity. Furthermore a fixing member for supporting said core is made of such a composition as to be evenly abraded with said core, thereby preventing deformation of the head resulting from abrasion by the recording medium and thus enabling to maintain the initial electromagnetic converting characteristics over a prolonged period.

摘要： In a linear tracking pickup apparatus of a record player, a video disc player and the like wherein a pickup arm is swingably and pivotally supported on a gimbal support mechanism, a device for detecting an offset angle of the pickup arm comprising: a light-reflecting surface formed on a portion of a first frame as a part of the surface of this portion, which first frame being a portion of the gimbal support mechanism and swingable with the horizontal swing of the pickup arm; a light-emitting source fixed to a second frame, not swingable but only linearly movable, of the gimbal support mechanism so as to face the light-reflecting surface; and a photo-sensitive element fixed to the second frame for receiving the light rays reflected by the light-reflecting surface. This arrangement is free of any such eccentric load otherwise placed additionally on the pickup arm via its support mechanism on which a detector is to be mounted in the conventional art, and a desirable lateral balance of the pickup arm is maintained throughout the reproduction.

摘要： A video disc player includes a carriage supporting signal processing circuitry having an electrical input terminal. A pickup cartridge which is removably mounted in said carriage contains a stylus and an electrical connection between an electrode on said stylus and a terminal on the cartridge. The cartridge terminal engages the input terminal of the signal processing circuitry under operating conditions. During installation of the cartridge in the carriage, cartridge projections cooperate with cam surfaces provided in the carriage to hold the terminal on the cartridge in spaced relation to the input terminal until the two terminals are aligned, to prevent a shearing motion therebetween.

摘要： A pickup cartridge encloses a stylus arm carrying a stylus at one end thereof. The other end of the stylus arm is secured to a connector plate via a compliant member. A spring releasably clamps the stylus arm in a retracted position. A pair of elastic straps extend between a pair of spaced end ribs. The rear end of the cartridge has a pair of hooks for releasably retaining the pair of spaced end ribs. The rear surfaces of the elastic straps are at a certain angle with respect to the front surfaces thereof. The connector plate is secured to the slanted rear surfaces of the elastic straps to establish an angular orientation of the connector plate relative to the cartridge so that, when the stylus arm is held in the retracted position in the cartridge, the compliant member is unstressed. The connector plate is adapted to be rotated upon reception of the cartridge in a player to permit the stylus arm to protrude outside the confines of the cartridge without stressing the compliant member. The clamping spring is locatable in one of three positions relative to the cartridge. In the top position, the clamping spring retains the stylus arm in the retracted position against a stop in the cartridge. The middle position of the clamping spring permits the stylus arm to protrude outside the confines of the cartridge. The bottom position is for manufacturing pusposes. Means are provided for accurately positioning the cartridge in a compartment provided in the player.
