    摘要： A detecting system for detecting the ends of hot steel billets. At least two and preferably three photoelectric detectors have adjacent fields of view. An electric circuit is arranged to signal when the output of one detector, the middle of the three, exceeds half the output of either of the other detectors. Other logical functions are provided to sense the beginning and end of a billet reliably.

    摘要： A navigational aid including a position display device driveable to indicate orthogonal position coordinates of an aircraft in response to received pulses from a resolver fed by a transducer that responds to air speed. For each coordinate direction a bidirectional counter stores an estimated component of wind velocity and controls by a diode matrix the feeding to drive means for the display of additional pulses at a rate proportional to the component of wind velocity. At the end of an elapsed time pulses are fed to the counters to correct the stored component of wind velocity and a number of pulses proportional to the product of the elapsed time and the correction to a respective counter is fed to the drive means for correcting each indicated coordinate. Thus the stored components of wind velocity are accurately adjusted automatically by correcting the indicated coordinates.

    摘要： A phase-locked oscillator has an oscillator unit switchable between two frequencies, the switches being controlled by a switching control signal in the form of pulses at a regular repetition rate, said pulses having a duration relative to the repetition period linearly proportional to the amplitude of an integrated phase error signal. The oscillator unit is thus switched regularly between its two frequencies, the relative duration of the operation on each frequency being controlled whereby the mean oscillator frequency is controlled to hold the required phase lock, a high degree of linearity between controlling voltage and average output frequency.
