Abstract:
A position of an inner surface of a panel (10) is measured with the panel being held, and a position of a main surface of a color selection electrode (30) is measured with a color selection electrode frame (40) being held, so that the measured positional data provide a measured value corresponding to a spacing between the panel inner surface and the main surface of the color selection electrode. In a state that the engaging holes of the supporting members are engaged with dummy pins (200) arranged in a predetermined positional relationship to the panel pins (20) on the condition that the panel is held, the position of the main surface of the color selection electrode is adjusted with respect to engaging holes on the basis of the predetermined positional relationship and the measured value, and supporting members are fixed by welding to the color selection electrode frame.
Abstract:
A laser beam is emitted form one side to a pair of square holes, while an electron gun assembly is being rotated on the tube axis of a color cathode-ray tube. The resulting diffraction pattern is sensed. When diffraction images included in the diffraction pattern are processed and a zero-order diffraction image and at least a first-order diffraction image are sensed in the pattern, the distance between the center of the zero-order diffraction image and the center of the first-order diffraction image is measured. The rotational position at which the distance is the smallest is sensed. The electron gun assembly is rotated to the position and held in place. Consequently, high-speed positioning is done with high rotation accuracy, which helps manufacture high-quality color cathode-ray tubes.
Abstract:
The present invention involves a method for simultaneously applying an activation layer on the photoemissive layers of a plurality of photocathodes such as those used in image intensifier devices. The method includes the steps of diffusing a flux of activating chemicals over the plurality of photocathodes, wherein the flux is substantially spatially uniform with respect to the plurality of photocathodes; monitoring the sum photoresponse of the plurality of photocathodes; and terminating the flux of activating chemicals when a desired sum photoresponse is attained.

A device and a method for removing and re-engaging display devices with a conveyor belt system to facilitate tilt testing eliminates much of the manual labor associated with performing a tilt test. The device combines a fixture with a set of cameras to perform a tilt test using a tilt test pattern that is displayed on the screen of the cathode ray tube. The device and method allow an efficient tilt testing to be performed while minimizing the work process and time period for tilt testing, thus enhancing productivity. Furthermore, the time delay normally caused by the manual carrying of the display device by workers is reduced, along with the associated damage to the display devices. As a result, the overall level of quality of the image display devices that are produced can be increased.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a product quality test in a winding step of the entire manufacturing process of a deflection yoke, which is a core part of a display device employing a cathode ray tube such as a color TV or a monitor, and in particular, a winding zig for measuring magnetic fields of a deflection yoke and a magnetic field measuring system of a deflection yoke using the winding zig. The winding zig and the system according to the invention include a plurality of magnetic field sensors mounted inside of the A-shaped winding zig, a digital signal generator for receiving output signals from the magnetic field sensors that sense magnetic field characteristics of a deflection coil wound around the A-shaped winding zig, amplifying the received signals, and converting the amplified signals to digital signals, a digital signal interface for converting the data outputted from the digital signal generator to serial data, and a transmitter for receiving signals processed as serial data by the digital signal interface, and transmitting the received signals.

A method of analyzing a first gas in a lamp, including: cooling at least a first portion of a lamp below the condensation temperature of the first gas contained in the lamp while operating the lamp; maintaining the temperature of the first portion below the condensation temperature of the first gas until essentially all the available first gas contained in the lamp condenses on the surface of at least the first portion of the lamp; removing a second portion of the lamp, the second portion containing the condensed first gas; and analyzing at least one of the condensed first gas or the remaining bound gas.
Abstract:
The adjustment apparatus automatically adjusts the position and angle of a deflection yoke attached to the neck part of a cathode ray tube. A cathode ray tube having a deflection yoke as an adjustment target attached to its neck part is fixed to a predetermined adjustment position such that its tube axis extends in the horizontal direction. The adjustment apparatus holds a deflection yoke attached to the neck part of the cathode ray tube fixed to an adjustment position by means of a hold mechanism. A test image displayed through a fluorescent surface of the cathode ray tube is picked up by a plurality of cameras. The deflection yoke held by the hold mechanism is moved based on image data picked up by the cameras. The position and angle of the deflection yoke with respect to the neck part are automatically adjusted.
