    摘要: A power controller for a mobile terminal variable gain amplifier (VGA). A controller consistent with the invention controls VGA output using a feedback error signal established based on the difference between a signal representative of the VGA output and a signal representative of a target output. The error signal causes convergence of the VGA output to the target output based on a magnitude of the difference. A method of controlling the output of a variable gain amplifier in a mobile terminal is also provided.

    摘要: Radiation synthesizer systems provide efficient wideband operation with loop antenna elements which are small relative to operating wavelength. Energy dissipation is substantially reduced by cycling energy back and forth between a high-Q radiator and a storage capacitance under control of a switching circuit. Systems using multi-segment loop antennas match input impedance to switching circuit parameters. Use of such antennas in crossed-loop configurations excited in quadrature and supported on a wearable garment provide body-borne antennas with isotropic type coverage. With light-weight flexible construction, a wearable radiating system can avoid any need for visually identifiable features and provide effective antenna pattern coverage regardless of the wearer's body orientation, whether standing, prone or otherwise.

    摘要: In order to enable one radiant electrode to transmit and receive signals with a plurality of frequency bands, in a base member, a feeding electrode to be connected to a signal supply source and an open electrode floated from the ground are arranged adjacent to each other leaving a space. In the base member, one end of a linear electrode is connected to the feeding electrode while the other end is connected to the open electrode. A substantially loop-shaped radiant electrode extending from the feeding electrode toward the open electrode via the linear electrode is defined by the feeding electrode, the open electrode, and the linear electrode. The linear electrode is provided with a short-cut electrode short-cutting a loop of the radiant electrode. A feeding-end portion (feeding electrode) and an open-end portion (open electrode) of the loop-shaped radiant electrode are combined together with a capacitance therebetween, so that the gain in an antenna operation due to higher-order resonance of the radiant electrode is improved, enabling not only basic resonance of the radiant electrode but also the higher-order resonance to be practically used in signal transmitting or receiving.

    摘要: A mobile radio communication apparatus comprises a power amplifier (102) for power-amplifying a transmission signal (103) into an amplified transmission signal which is transmitted through an antenna (101). A high-sensitivity detector (105) high-sensitivity detects the amplified transmission signal. The high-sensitivity detection signal is limited by a diode (107) to a predetermined voltage to be produced as a first output voltage signal. A low-sensitivity detector (110) low-sensitivity detects the amplified transmission signal. A predetermined offset voltage is superposed on the low-sensitivity detection signal to be produced as a second output voltage signal. The first and the second output voltage signals are combined into a combined output signal. A comparator (118) compares the combined output signal with a transmission ramp production signal supplied from a mobile radio communication apparatus control section. With reference to a comparison result, a dynamic range of the power amplifier is controlled.

    摘要: A pilot adjusting system adjusts the power level of the pilot relative to the power level of the input signal. For example, the pilot adjusting system detects the power level of the input signal on the signal path leading to an RF amplifier. In response to the power level of the input signal, the pilot adjusting system adjusts the power level of the pilot signal which is injected into the signal path prior to the RF amplifier. In certain embodiments, the pilot adjuster adjusts the pilot power level to maintain a desired input signal to pilot signal ratio at the input to the RF amplifier for the input signal range of the RF amplifier. As such, if the input signal power level drops 30 dB, the pilot adjuster reduces the power level of the pilot signal by 30 dB, thereby maintaining the input signal to pilot ratio throughout the input range of the RF amplifier. Other parameters of the pilot signal can be adjusted relative to other parameters for the input signal prior to the pilot signal being injected into the main signal path prior to the RF amplifier.

    摘要: There is disclosed an adaptive pre-distortion correction circuit for use in an RF transmitter having a transmit path capable of receiving a digital input baseband signal and generating a modulated RF output signal. The adaptive pre-distortion circuit comprises 1) input sampling means coupled to an input of the transmit path for capturing from a first digital input sample of amplitude X; 2) demodulation circuitry coupled to an output of the transmit path for receiving and demodulating the modulated RF output signal to produce a digital output baseband signal; 3) output sampling means coupled to the demodulation circuitry for capturing a first digital output sample corresponding to the first input sample; and 4) processing means for comparing the first digital input sample and the first digital output sample and calculating a pre-distortion correction value corresponding to the amplitude X. The pre-distortion correction value are stored in a look-up table and are continually updated to compensate for circuit changes over time.

The first insulated conductor extends around and over the surface with a first pitch or winding sense from a first node to a second node. The second insulated conductor also extends around and over the surface with a second pitch or winding sense, which is opposite from the first pitch or winding sense, from a third node to a fourth node. The first and second insulated conductors are contrawound relative to each other around and over the surface. In one embodiment of the invention, at least one of the nodes is open. In other embodiments of the invention, the signal terminals are structured for connection to a cooperative antenna structure.
