A reflective plate is spaced a distance behind the antenna relative to a direction of the propagation of the second electromagnetic wave. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要： An antenna for connection to a feed includes a substrate with a conductive ground plane. An emitter is positioned on the top face of the substrate, and the feed is connected to the emitter and ground plane. A spacer is positioned on the substrate above the emitter and one layer of high dielectric constant rods is positioned above the spacer. The rods are positioned in a single plane, coplanar with the emitter, and parallel to the dominant current distribution when the emitter is active. Further layers of spacers and rods can be positioned at a predetermined angle to the rods beneath. A kit is further provided for application of spacers and rods to preexisting antennas.

摘要： Means for re-polarizing and generating circularly polarized waves using a single or multi-layer lattice structure which is placed in front of a radiation aperture with the lattice structure consisting of a plurality of conductors extending in the form of lines which meander and might be rectangular combinations or the like. With a lattice, a polarization conversion into circular polarization and the suppression of orthogonal polarization components is simultaneously achieved by providing that the meandering lines 4 extend in a direction such that the meander lines have an angle of 45.degree. at every location with respect to the respective E vectors of the linearly polarized E-vector fields at such locations. The re-polarization means can be used as a Radome of a target tracking radar antenna.

摘要： An electromagnetic energy absorber comprising a thin electrically-conductive ground plane as a base. Dielectric layers are positioned over the ground plane and high impedance surface (HIS) as a top layer. The impedance layer can be formed by loading the lumped resistor to a metallic grating like an FSS (Frequency Selective Surface). An air-spacer between the substrates has replaced the problem of the large electrical thickness of the substrate with effective permittivity. Metamaterial structures enable control over the resonant frequencies, and performance is enhanced over a broad frequency band. In addition, two broadband reflective-type linear to orthogonal polarization converters are disclosed that provide improved bandwidth and angular stability performance.
