The size of the pipe diameter is determined to be enough to allow cooling water to flow at a relatively low pressure and to properly cool the electrical modules.

    摘要: A control system is provided for the accurately timed control of switching inverter circuitry; for example, an inverter that produces a 115VAC/60HZ output from a 12 V DC source such as a vehicle battery. The control system utilizes an internal reference source and supervisory control circuitry to determine accurate and orderly start up, shut down, control of the inverter switching elements and automatic shut down upon the occurrence of predetermined sensed conditions including low input voltage from the source and excessive output current through the load. The switching elements of the inverter are each controlled to produce respective outputs of predetermined active/inactive duty cycles each switching cycle with an accurate inactive period being established between the active periods of each switching element. Thus, induced transients due to inductive loads and the like are allowed to decay to safe levels prior to the switching transistion between switching elements to reduce undesirable effects on the inverter circuitry and the switching elements.

    摘要: A circuit for shutting down an inverter that includes at least a series combination of first and second gate controlled rectifiers and a load. The circuit is comprised of means for sensing the direction and magnitude of the instantaneous current flowing through the load, and means responsive to the direction and magnitude of the sensed current for generating an output signal when the magnitude of the current exceeds a predetermined threshold level and the current is flowing in a first direction. The circuit further comprises means responsive to the simultaneous receiving of a shutdown signal and the generated output signal for further generating a gating pulse to be applied to the second gate controlled rectifier to cause the current flowing through the load to quickly extinguish. Further included is means responsive to the shutdown signal for inhibiting further regular gating of the gate controlled rectifiers to ensure quick turn off of the inverter.

    摘要: Disclosure is made of a rectifier-inverter system of a converter substation intended for the transmission of energy between a.c. networks having different frequencies, which system comprises one or more pairs of rectifier and inverter converters connected to a common d.c. circuit.According to the invention, the poles of at least one rectifier or inverted converter are connected to a protective grounding via resistor-capacitor elements.The absence of direct contact with the ground in the d.c. circuit rules out the possibility of a low-resistance closed circuit being formed as a result of a short-circuit earthing at any point of the d.c. circuit. This reduces the voltage across the insulation with respect to the ground at each pole of all the converters and diminishes the steady voltage component across the insulation with respect to the ground of transformer valve windings.

    摘要: A converter circuit includes an inrush current limit circuit to limit the initial transient surge of inrush current to a power supply upon the initial application of voltage to the power supply input. After the initial start-up transient inrush current surge, the inrush current limit circuit is switched out of the input signal path to reduce power dissipation during normal steady state operation of the circuit. If the input voltage magnitude decreases significantly at any time, the inrush current limit circuit is reset to limit any further current surges.

    摘要: An impulse commutated inverter is provided with control apparatus for firing a first commutating rectifier, sensing the subsequent flow of capacitor overcharge current in a parallel reset resistor and delaying a fixed time interval after current flow is first sensed before an opposite serially connected commutating rectifier is permitted to fire. The inverter is thus allowed to generate minimum pulse widths to achieve the maximum possible output voltage in pulse width modulation operation without increasing the risk of shoot-through resulting from simultaneous conduction of the two commutating rectifiers.

    摘要: In a static converter with thyristor-rectifiers, a protection against auto-ignition includes an arrangement for sensing the polarity over the rectifier, and an And-gate. The sensing arrangement emits a first signal to the And-gate when a voltage after a commutation becomes negative and a second signal when a voltage after a commutation becomes positive. The And-gate is connected to the ignition system of the rectifiers to supply both signals thereto. The connecting means for the first signal includes a delay device which delays the signal by a time corresponding to the longest recovery time for the thyristors, so that, if the second signal is emitted during this time, an ignition signal is allowed to pass the And-gate.
