    摘要: A frequency selective limiter (FSL) is provided having a transmission line structure with a tapered width. The FSL includes a magnetic material having first and second opposing surfaces. A first conductor is disposed on the first surface of the magnetic material, where a width of the first conductor decreases from a first end of the FSL to a second end of the FSL along a length of the FSL. Two second conductors are disposed on the second surface of the magnetic material, where a width of a gap between the two second conductors decreases from the first end of the FSL to the second end of the FSL along a length of the FSL. The first conductor and two second conductors form a biplanar waveguide transmission line.

    摘要: A volume control device is inserted in the circuit between the output of a sound system amplifier and a speaker. The volume control device measures ambient noise in the music environment and adjusts the power transferred to the speaker, such that the output volume of the speaker increases and decreases with changes in the ambient noise. A variable throughput current device, such as a thermistor or a transistor, is connected in the speaker circuit to control a power transfer to the speaker. A comparator compares the output of an ambient noise detector with the signal applied to the speaker and the variable throughput current device is adjusted in accordance with the compared signals. A level detect circuit serves to maintain the speaker volume at a preset level when the amplifier output drops below a predefined signal level. The speaker may be provided with a sensing coil generating an output signal representative of the level of ambient noise in the vicinity of the speaker.

    摘要: Disclosed is a level detector in use with a differential amplifier circuit in an amplitude-limiting amplifying system for angle-modulation signal amplification. The differential amplifier circuit is made up of differentially paired transistors. The level detector contains first and second transistors which form a differential pair. In the first transistor, the base is connected to an interjunction of the emitters of the differentially paired transistors. A second transistor is connected at the emitter to the emitter of the first transistor. A current source is connected to the emitter interjunction of the first and second transistors. A bias circuit applies a predetermined bias potential to the base of the second transistor. An output signal containing the detected level information of the input signal is derived from the collector of the first or second transistor.

A second selectively actuable voltage clamping circuit is responsive to a second comparing circuit and is coupled to the input for preventing the voltage at the input from decreasing below a predetermined lower voltage.

    摘要: A plurality of differential amplifier stages in cascaded in a directly coupled configuration to provide substantial signal gain. The first few stages are cascode coupled to a plural input differential signal combiner which has a single differential output that feeds a full wave differential peak detector. The peak detector therefore has an output that rises as a log function of the signal input. This signal-related voltage is then fed to a differential dc amplifier which in turn drives a meter that indicates the log of the input signal strength. The amplifier cascade is stabilized by a dc feedback loop.

    摘要: Limiter amplifier adapted to be constructed in integrated circuit form and including a plurality of direct current coupled transistor stages capable of limiting operation from a one-cell battery. The amplifier has sufficient gain to limit on noise so that a rectangular wave output signal is developed at the output. An integrating network responsive to the output signal provides a bias voltage which is coupled through complementary emitter followers, having current sharing therebetween, to the input circuit to control the bias applied to the semiconductor devices so that the duty cycle of the rectangular wave output signal is regulated to be preferably a 50 percent duty cycle.
