    摘要: A system and method for converting an analog voltage signal to a digital representation at high speeds, known as an analog to digital converter (A/D converter), is provided in the form of an N-bit A/D converter, made by N superconducting, preferably HTC, transmission lines. The N lines are arranged adjacently and in parallel with each other. On each line 2N−1 Josephson Junctions (JJs) are embedded in series. The JJs form a matrix over the configuration of the N superconducting transmission lines. A scanning electron beam is made to impinge on this arrangement across the lines at a high frequency, while it is deflected by the applied voltage signal along the direction of the lines. A voltage step is generated upon hitting any one of the JJs. In this manner upon each cross-scanning of the beam, an N-bit step voltage pattern is generated on the lines.

    摘要: A system and method for converting an analog voltage signal to a digital representation at high speeds, known as an analog to digital converter (A/D converter), is provided. The invention teaches an N-bit A/D converter, made by N superconducting, preferably HTC, transmission lines. The N lines are arranged adjacently and in parallel with each other. On each line 2N−1 JJs are imbedded in series. The JJs form a matrix over the configuration of the N superconducting transmission lines in such a manner that across the lines the JJs give N digit binary numbers, while in the length direction these N digit binary numbers fall in numerical order. A scanning electron beam is made to impinge on this arrangement. The beam is scanned across the lines at a high frequency, while it is deflected by the applied voltage signal along the direction of the lines. The beam generates a voltage step on any one of the N lines on condition of hitting any one of the JJs. In this manner upon each cross-scanning of the beam, an N-bit step voltage pattern is generated on the lines. This pattern is the direct digital readout of the input voltage signal.

    摘要: An optical theta-modulation based analog-to-digital converter having an acousto-optic deflector and an analog-to-digital conversion mask, for fast and flexible analog-to-digital conversion. The acousto-optic deflector deflects an optical beam at an angle corresponding to an input voltage signal having an analog value. The analog-to-digital conversion mask converts the deflected optical beam into N masked optical signals which each corresponds to a respective bit of a digital value representing the analog value of the input signal. Each optical signal is detected by a photodetector and converted into an output voltage signal by a comparator.

    摘要: An oscilloscope includes a digitizing camera mounted thereon for recording waveforms on the oscilloscope screen. The digitized signals representing the waveforms are stored in the computer. In the calibration process a plurality of baselines substantially equidistant from one another are scanned on the screen and thereafter a plurality of sine waves are scanned. The phase differences between each sine wave and an associated ideal sine wave are determined and are used to create a map which associates each point on a waveform of interest appearing on the oscillosope screen with a time value that corrects for nonlinearities in the horizontal axis which are injected by the optics, nonlinear voltages, etc. Another map is created utilizing the baseline scan which corrects for such nonlinearities in the vertical axis. A data waveform of interest appearing on the scope is mapped from its physical location on the target, using the time and voltage maps, onto a record which is corrected for nonlinearities and gain errors.

    摘要: This specification discloses methods and systems for reducing negative undershoot during transient load response for a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) boost power converter. In some embodiments, reduction of negative undershoot during transient load response is achieved by overriding the PWM duty cycle to a maximum duty cycle when VDDBOOST drops during load step. This maximum duty cycle (“max”) mode is triggered when VDDBOOST is within a hysteresis window. Setpoint for maximum duty cycle is versus DCDC converter output and input voltage. In some embodiments, a lookup table is implemented for determining the setpoint for maximum duty cycle.
