    摘要: A signal waveform display system for displaying waveforms of one or two input signals on a display screen is provided which comprises first-third input switching circuits, first and second trigger generators, first and second horizontal sweep generators, and a composite horizontal sweet generator. The trigger generators respectively generates first and second trigger pulses synchronously with the input signals provided thereto through the first and second input switching circuits. The sweep generators are triggered by the trigger pulses and generate first and second sweep signals having variable time periods, respectively. The composite sweep generator generates a composite sweep signal including lower portions of the first sweep signal which are smaller than a reference voltage, and upper portions of the second sweep signal which are higher than the reference voltage. The input signals are selectively provided to a vertical axis driving circuit, and the composite sweep signal is provided to a horizontal axis driving circuit, thereby the waveforms on different time scales can be laterally displayed on the screen.

    摘要: A cathode ray tube video display device is adapted to display wide aspect ratio signals by reducing the vertical scanning amplitude of the scanning raster. The scan is collapsed in the vertical direction without reducing the number of lines used to display the active picture, leaving unscanned bands at the top and bottom of the display. The device can change between a normal raster scanning mode and such a collapsed wide screen mode automatically in response to an indicator in the received video signal.

    摘要: A beam detection apparatus for sensing the position of an electron beam within a cathode ray tube is disclosed. The apparatus includes a photodetector for optically detecting the intersections of the electron beam with a graticule line on the faceplate of the cathode ray tube. In a second embodiment, an electrically conductive pattern of reference markers is applied to the graticule for intercepting the beam and a detector is coupled to the conductive pattern for detecting the interception. Calibration circuitry is also included to generate input signals to deflection amplifiers coupled to the cathode ray tube and to evaluate detection signals generated by the beam coinciding with a graticule line. The calibration circuitry compares the input signals to the input signal value represented by the graticule line and adjusts the deflection amplifiers of the cathode ray tube accordingly to cause the beam to coincide with a graticule line bearing a predetermined relationship to the input signal deflecting the beam.

    摘要: The cathode-ray-tube beam deflection of an oscilloscope is automatically calibrated by photoelectrically detecting the intersection of the tube's electron beam with visible graticule lines on the tube's faceplate. An input signal is compared, at the time of intersection, with stored values representative of the graticule lines, and the deflection amplifier gain of the oscilloscope is adjusted until the graticule lines properly represent the measurement of the input signal.

    摘要: A system for indicating the sweep rate of an oscilloscope time base. A counter is enabled by a sweep gate signal to permit clock pulses having a predetermined repetition rate to be counted during the time a sweep-driving ramp waveform is generated. The count output, which is proportional to the length of a time-base sweep, is decoded to generate specific control signals indicative of the sweep rate thereof. The control signals may then be used by a utilization means to provide a visual readout of the time-base sweep rate or to provide auto ranging for a digital voltmeter scaled in time units for time interval measurements.

    摘要: A spectrum analyzer is provided with a horizontal sweep generator that causes the analyzer to sweep at a fast rate when no signal is being detected. When a signal is detected the sweep generator stops sweeping, backs up and tunes the spectrum analyzer slowly through the detected signal to produce a calibrated display. After the signal has been detected and the analyzer has been tuned beyond it, the sweep rate is again increased until another signal is encountered.
