摘要: The present invention refers to a dry composition for chemical and physical sun protection, the composition comprising a) at least one calcium carbonate, and b) from 0.1 wt.-% to 100 wt.-%, based on the dry weight of the at least one calcium carbonate of step a) of at least one lignin. 摘要: The invention provides novel solutions and methods for storage and delivery of pollen to a female reproductive part of a recipient plant. The pollen storage solution provided includes a solute that maintains the tonicity of the pollen storage solution at a concentration between about 0.5 M and about 3.0 M and a cryoprotectant. The methods provided include storing the pollen storage solution and applying pollen stored in the storage pollen solution to at least a first female reproductive part of a recipient plant, thereby pollinating the female reproductive part with the stored pollen from the donor plant.

摘要: Described are methods of preserving cereal crop pollen and/or anthers. A method of the present invention includes collecting fresh pollen and/or anthers and introducing the pollen and/or anthers to field conditioning conditions which regulate pollen moisture content. The field conditioning conditions may include a an air flow at a humidity ranging from 0% to about 99% and a temperature ranging from about −10-10° C. The field conditioning conditions may further include a flow of one or more continuously refreshed, selected gases. The field conditioning conditions may dehydrate the pollen to achieve a pollen moisture content of about 15% to about 35%.

摘要: Provided herein are methods for providing improved vigor, and especially priming or improving root formation, of plant cuttings and to plant cuttings obtained thereby. Specifically, the methods include the steps of a) contacting a plant cutting with a polymeric solution, or suspension, optionally including one or more plant growth promoting and/or plant protecting compounds, thereby providing a coated plant cutting; b) allowing the polymeric solution, or suspension, of the coated plant cutting to solidify into a complexed coating, thereby providing an encapsulated plant cutting. The encapsulated plant cutting is coated with the complexed coating from the basal cut surface or tip of the plant cutting to less than 60% of the total length of said plant cutting to partially encapsulate the plant cutting with the complexed coating.

摘要: A protective coating for applying to a plant's foliage, branches and trunk for protecting against environmental stresses is formulated by combining a paint powder with at least one insect repellant oil and at least one rodent repellant oil in a water as a diluent. The paint base protects the plant against abiotic stresses by reflecting sun rays, mitigating damage caused by summer sunburn and winter sunscald, and retaining heat. The insect repellant oil and rodent repellant oil protect the plant against biotic stresses. The protective coating once assembled in an aqueous medium, is applied to the plant. The paint powder, when activated with water, has been specifically formulated to encapsulate the added oils and offer a gradual release of active ingredients that repels insects and rodents over several months under ideal conditions. The novel coating is united by a tacky binder material made from acid treated and methyl chloride rinsed methylcellulose. Reapplication of product may be needed sooner if exposed to excessive sunlight, heat and rainfall.
