摘要: A method of processing sugar beet and its varieties. It includes inactivation of the material against degradation by mixing sugar beet material with one or more alcohols selected from the group of alcohols containing one to four carbon atoms in the molecule and one hydroxyl group in such a ratio that the minimum alcohol concentration in the resulting liquid phase of the mixture is at least 60% by volume at a temperature from −15° C. to 180° C. The mixture of sugar beet and alcohol is maintained for 0 minutes to 600 minutes. The sugar beet roots before, during or after the inactivation step are disintegrated to a material of particles where at least one of the particle dimensions is less than or equal to 50 mm. The liquid phase is removed from the mixture to form a product with a dry-matter content of 40% by weight up to 99% by weight.

In the oxygen-concentration restoration operation, a controller of the internal air adjustment device regulates the flow rate of external air that is supplied into the interior of the storage.

摘要: A catering box with active climate control is configured to transport “delicate” foods, such as grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, and hamburgers, without inducing substantial sogginess in the bread of those food items. The catering box includes a heat mass configured to retain heat generated by a hot plate and to then radiate that heat, during transport, after the hot plate has been disconnected from a power source. In addition, the catering box includes an exhaust fan that actively controls internal specific humidity levels in order to prevent moisture from settling within the bread of stored food items. A microcontroller within the catering box monitors temperature and absolute humidity levels, computes the current specific humidity level, and then selectively engages or disengages the exhaust fan in response. With his approach, the catering box may limit the degree to which humidity settles within the bread of delicate food items stored within.

摘要: The present invention discloses a new method of packing and preserving fruits in liquid (fruit juice, syrup, water, etc). The method comprises packaging fruits, where the fruit is filled into a specifically formulated plastic container, topped with liquid, dosed with inert gases to enforce can integrity, seamed with metal can ends, and thermally processed to eliminate viable microorganisms. The process is unique in that by adjusting thermal processing parameters and manipulating the seam specifications, replacing the metal cans by a flexible and sustainable plastic can, becomes a practical alternative.
