摘要: In one implementation, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a computer system, information that indicates that a fire has been detected in a building and that a fire suppression system within the building has begun dousing the fire; monitoring sensor information from one or more sensors located within the building; determining, by the computer system and based on the sensor information, whether the fire has been extinguished; activating, in response to determining that the fire has been extinguished, a feature to turn off a water supply to the building, the feature being presented on a computing device for a user who is associated with the building; receiving, after activating the feature and from the computing device, a command to turn off the water supply; and transmitting, by the computer system, a control signal that causes an electromechanical device to close a water valve within the building.

摘要: A fire protection sprinkler system and related method for a storage area for one or more commodities or high energy commodities, the storage area having one or more racks that each includes one or more bays. The fire protection sprinkler system includes a piping network supplied by a source of fire protection fluid. The fire protection system includes a plurality of horizontal sidewall sprinklers. Each of the plurality of horizontal sidewall sprinklers has a K-factor of 11.2 gpm/(psi)1/2 or greater and is positioned horizontally at a perimeter of the racks to direct the fire protection fluid into the bays. Each of the plurality of horizontal sidewall sprinklers includes a deflector that distributes the fire protection fluid to a coverage area. The fire protection sprinkler system can also include vertical sidewall sprinklers positioned vertically and include a deflector that directs the fire protection fluid horizontally into the bays.

摘要: A corrosion monitoring device for pipe systems according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a pipe having a first pipe portion and a second pipe portion. The first pipe portion includes a wall having a first wall thickness, and the second pipe portion includes a wall having a second wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness. The corrosion monitoring device further includes a structure coupled to the pipe and defining a sealed chamber between the structure and at least the first pipe portion, and a sensor for sensing a pressure in the sealed chamber or for sensing a liquid in the sealed chamber. Example corrosion monitoring devices and methods for monitoring corrosion in pipe systems are also disclosed.

摘要: Differential-type dry pipe valves for fire protection systems are provided. The valve includes a body with a clapper assembly disposed in an internal passage of the valve body between an inlet and an outlet. The clapper assembly is movable between a closed position and an open position to respectively prevent and permit fluid flow through the passage from the inlet to the outlet. With the clapper assembly in the open position, an internal mechanism is positioned to stop the clapper moving to the closed position. The valve includes a resetting assembly having a knob exterior to the body. Translation of the knob toward the outlet moves the internal mechanism which permits the clapper assembly to move to the closed position.

摘要: A protective device prevents tampering with a pipe system. The system transmits fluid from an upstream end to a downstream end of the system. The protective device includes a pipe insert disposed within the system between the upstream and downstream ends, and a valve within the pipe insert. The valve is moveable between open and closed positions, wherein the open position opens the pipe insert, enabling transmission of the fluid through the pipe insert, and the closed position occludes the pipe insert, disabling transmission of the fluid through the pipe insert to the downstream end of the system. The device includes a sensor for disposition within the fluid to detect a target compound in the pipe insert. The valve moves from the open position to the closed position when the sensor detects the target compound.
