摘要: A sight-viewing structure for an engine nacelle, including a sight glass that is translucent or semi-translucent, a mounting frame, and a flame shield. The sight glass allows checking of oil levels of an aircraft engine accessory gearbox within the nacelle without doors and springs that can be more susceptible to fail fire testing. The mounting frame has an outer side, an inner side opposite the outer side, and a frame opening formed through the mounting frame. The frame opening is covered by the sight glass, and the mounting frame is configured for attachment to an inner surface of the engine nacelle at a location with a hole through the engine nacelle, such that the sight glass can be viewed through the hole. A flame shield may be made of composite materials and covers the inner side of the mounting frame and peripheral edge regions of the sight glass.

摘要: A method for air separation module management includes determining an amount of nitrogen-enriched-air to be supplied to each fuel tank of a plurality of fuel tanks of an aircraft. The method also includes evaluating a status and usage of each air separation module of a plurality of air separation modules onboard the aircraft. The method additionally includes determining an optimal distribution of workload among the plurality of air separation modules based on the amount of the nitrogen-enriched-air to be supplied to each fuel tank and the status and usage of each air separation module. The method further includes regulating a valve associated with each air separation module or a group of air separation modules based on the optimal distribution of workload to each air separation module.

摘要: An aircraft having at least one transport pipe in which dihydrogen flows and, for each transport pipe, an embedding channel in which the transport pipe is housed. The embedding channel has a gutter that has a bottom and an opening opposite the bottom and a cover that covers the opening of the gutter. The cover constitutes an outer wall of the aircraft in direct contact with external air surrounding the aircraft. The cover has ventilation windows passing through it that allow the passage of the dihydrogen towards the outside. With such an arrangement, even in the event of dihydrogen leaking into the embedding channel, the dihydrogen is automatically evacuated towards the outside of the aircraft.

摘要: A helipad fire suppression system includes a helipad having an outer boundary that defines an impervious deck area for at least one of landing or storing one or more helicopters, with at least a portion of the impervious deck area being designated a fire suppression target area. The system includes a nozzle assembly having a spray-type nozzle for spraying a fire suppression fluid in a radial pattern. The nozzle assembly can include a nozzle enclosure for enclosing the spray-type nozzle and can be configured for installation in a surface made of an impervious material. The nozzle assembly is disposed in an interior portion of the impervious deck area so as to provide the fire suppression fluid to the fire suppression target area.

摘要: A system and method fare disclosed for inerting a protected space. Process water is delivered to an anode of an electrochemical cell where a portion of the process water is electrolyzed to form protons and oxygen. The protons are transferred across the separator to the cathode, and process water is directed through a process water fluid flow path including a first side of a membrane. Gas is transferred to a second side of the membrane to form a de-gassed process water on the first side of the membrane, and the de-gassed process water is recycled to the anode. Air is delivered to the cathode and oxygen is reduced at the cathode to generate oxygen-depleted air. The oxygen-depleted air is directed from the cathode of the electrochemical cell along an inerting gas flow path to the protected space.
