摘要: The disclosed Hydro-Gravitational Trap (HGT) method and apparatus separate a suspension into two flow streams, discriminating particles based on a designated particle settling velocity: one Designated Particle Concentrated (DPC) and one Designated Particle Diluted (DPD). The HGT confines particles between a controlled upward hydrodynamic field and the downward net gravitational field within the apparatus’s High-Energy Segment (HES), awaiting removal. The HES typically contains an internal agitator conforming to its divergent shape. Agitator motion prevents trapped particles from adhering to the HES, provides flocculation energy, and mixes the contents, controlling the DPC flow stream concentration. The agitator can also simultaneously function as a control valve or an actuator regulating this flow in some preferred embodiments. Designated particles remain trapped in the HES until removed with the DPC flow stream while the DPD flow stream advects upward, exiting the apparatus through the top of the Low-Energy1 Segment (LES).

摘要: To reduce cost of chemical by reducing quantity of foaming agent used when removing unburned carbon in fly ash with wet floatation and to prevent decrease in activity index of the fly ash. In wet decarburization of fly ash, the solution comprising the steps of: adding water to fly ash to generate slurry; adding hydrophobizing agent and foaming agent to the slurry and agitating them to generate bubbles; and adhering unburned carbon in the fly ash to the bubbles to float them to remove the unburned carbon in the fly ash, when sedimentation component at wet floatation separation is solid-liquid separated and liquid phase obtained by solid-liquid separation is reused for another floatation separation for new fly ash, the quantity of foaming agent added to the slurry is adjusted such that concentration of the foaming agent in liquid phase is in a predetermined range. When adjusting the concentration of the foaming agent in the liquid phase, it is possible to measure COD concentration in the liquid phase and adjust the quantity of the foaming agent added to the slurry in such a manner that the COD concentration is in a predetermined range.

摘要: An apparatus and method of separating small rubbish and organic matters from garbage for collection by means of water by considering specific weight, buoyancy, and flow rate of water is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a plurality of conveyor screens incorporating injection nozzles, a less inclined channel, a conveyor, and an organic matter screen for effectively separating floated rubbish, organic matters, and sunk rubbish from garbage for collection.

摘要: A density-current method and apparatus for separating produce, such as potatoes, from debris, such as roots, vines, corn cobs, wood, metal objects, and rocks. An elongated tank with a non-turbulent flow of water allows the objects to stratify. A chain conveyor seperates the upper strata of debris. An increase in velocity causes the water and produce to be removed from the apparatus. The objects that sink are removed from the apparatus by a chain conveyor. The invention is an efficient method for separating debris from large volumes of produce.

摘要: Improved fluidizing apparatus adapted to separate continuously ion exchange resins having different densities in order to perform their selective classification according to suitable granulometric distributions. The apparatus comprises a first separation chamber and in the lower portion of this first separation chamber a second chamber coaxially thereto having a gradually increasing cross-section from the bottom to the top. This apparatus is notably applicable to a method of separation if ion exchange resins in movable-bed demineralizing installations in which the resins and their supporting fluid are introduced in the bottom of the second chamber in which they circulate upwards in the first chamber from which they are discharged in different zones depending on their densities.
