    Abstract: A tool holder having force sensors includes a first connection portion, a second connection portion, a first sensing portion, a second sensing portion, at least one first force sensor and at least one second force sensor. The first connection portion connects a cutting tool along an axis. The second connection portion connects a spindle along the axis. The first sensing portion having at least one first hole connects the first connection portion along the axis. The second sensing portion having at least one second hole connects the second connection portion and the first sensing portion. The first force sensor disposed in the first hole is to sense a torsional force. The second force sensor disposed in the second hole is to sense a bending force. The first sensing portion has a bending stiffness greater than that of the second sensing portion.

    Abstract: An information processing device to process a two-dimensional image generated by an imaging unit in a machine tool including an attachment unit to which the imaging unit or a tool is attachable, the attachment unit moving to image an image of a workpiece placed in the machine tool, the imaging unit imaging the image of the workpiece at an imaging position, the information processing device including a computation unit for (i) calculating a position of the workpiece based on an image imaged after the imaging unit has moved to a predetermined position based on machine coordinates of the machine tool, and (ii) detecting an edge of the workpiece from the two-dimensional image imaged by the imaging unit at an imaging position after the imaging unit has been moved from the predetermined position to the imaging position, and calculating a length of the workpiece from detected edges.

    Abstract: A drill guide for a drill bit of a chucked hand-held drill is disclosed. The drill guide includes a mount, a coupler, a telescoping guard, and a guide foot. The mount is configured to couple to a non-rotating portion of the chucked hand-held drill. The coupler extends from the mount and forms a chuck access window aligned with the chuck when the mount is coupled to the non-rotating portion of the chucked hand-held drill thereby allowing a chuck key to interface with the chuck. The telescoping guard extends from the coupler and is configured to telescope into a retracted position from an extended position. The guide foot is coupled to the telescoping guard such that the drill guide enshrouds the drill bit when the telescoping guard is in the extended position, and the drill bit passes through the guide foot when the telescoping guard is in the retracted position.

    Abstract: A depth limiting device includes a braking structure; a limited shrinking structure, the limited shrinking structure including a part that surrounds a moving object and being in a home position or a compressed position; and a structure adapted for pushing the limited shrinking structure to the home position. The braking structure brakes the moving object such that the moving object moves together with the depth limiting device. When the moving object enters into a subject, the part of the limited shrinking structure is pressed against the subject, and the limited shrinking structure moves from the home position to the compressed position and stops the moving object from entering further into the subject.

    Abstract: The present invention belongs to the technical field of machining of fiber-reinforced composites, and relates to a method for measuring distribution of a thrust force during drilling of a unidirectional composite along with a fiber cutting angle. The method includes: cutting the surface a composite sample piece to form a groove; drilling on an existing experimental platform for measuring a thrust force during drilling, where a through hole obtained through the drilling is required to intersect with the groove; obtaining a curve of the thrust force during drilling, comparing the curve with a conventional curve of the thrust force to find a mutation point, and determining the mutation point, namely a fiber cutting angle at the groove; and calculating fluctuation periods of the thrust force according to machining parameters to reckon the distribution of the thrust force along with the fiber cutting angle in all the periods.
