    摘要: An apparatus for crushing aluminum beverage cans, including; a containment structure with an integral crushing chamber, a pneumatic crushing cylinder with a hub type crushing head which ensures the can remains inside the crushing chamber during the crushing event, an ejection cylinder with an ejection ram, solenoid control valves, a safety interlock switch and a 3 position control switch, an air/gas supply and distribution system and an electrical control system. Two pneumatic cylinders; which are supplied air via two 3-way solenoid control valves, are used to perform the crushing and ejection work. Simultaneous two handed switch operation is required to energize either of the 3-way solenoid control valves to route air to the pneumatic cylinders. Two handed switch operation ensures that the operator's hands are free of the crushing chamber during operation.

    摘要: A modular press suitable for use in the manufacture of EWC products may include a plurality of frame modules coupled together and aligned along a feed path axis. Each frame module may have a generally planar body supported on a corresponding pair of bases, an elongate aperture, an upper and a lower platform within the aperture, and a platen between the platforms. Optionally, the ends of the aperture may be curved. A first actuator system may be operable to move the platen from a raised position to an intermediate position, and a second actuator system may be operable to press the platen downwardly from the intermediate position onto a workpiece within the aperture. Some modular presses may include conveyor rolls and a third actuator system to raise and lower the conveyor rolls. In some embodiments, the actuator systems may be pneumatic actuator systems. Corresponding methods and systems are also described herein.

The hydraulic pressure generating unit 55 is movable in a thrust direction in a cylinder 2, and the second hydraulic chamber 32 has a function of fixing the moving hydraulic pressure generating unit 55 in the cylinder 2 by causing a thin portion 15 to be elastically deformed in a radial direction due to hydraulic pressure. The first hydraulic chamber 31 outputs hydraulic pressure of the first hydraulic chamber 31, which is increased by the fixing, to an output rod 7.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for conducting a secondary operation on a workpiece such as punching or flanging, after a primary forming operation has been completed while the workpiece is still in the press. The secondary operation is performed by discharging a volume of hydraulic fluid to a working cylinder at a selectively controlled point in the press cycle, the hydraulic fluid pressurized by compression of a volume of gas by the press during the primary operation, and thereafter released by a solenoid valve at the time the secondary operation is to be performed. A discharge cylinder is mounted to one of the dies and is engaged to cause the hydraulic fluid to be pressurized by compression of the gas during the downstroke of the press.
