Abstract:
A Brunnian link is a link formed from a closed loop doubled over itself to capture another closed loop to form a chain. The example kit provides for the successful creation of unique wearable articles using Brunnian link assembly techniques and includes several pin bars that are supported in a desired special orientation by at least one base. The desired special orientation is dependent on the desired linked configuration of the completed article. The pins may be assembled in various combination and orientations to provide endless variation of completed link orientations.

Abstract:
A Brunnian link is a link formed from a closed loop doubled over itself to capture another closed loop to form a chain. Elastic bands can be utilized to form such links in a desired manner. The example device provides a means of creating items using Brunnian links of complex configurations. Moreover, the example kit provides a device that allows for the successful creation of unique linked items.
Abstract:
A decorative material holder formed from a single piece structure having a series of equally spaced apart cavities formed by a series of upper and lower U-shaped bends in a sinuous shape. The cavities allow for the support of ornamental items, as well as facilitate and ease the making of ribbon bows. The material holder has a proximal end and a distal end extending a distance beyond the lower U-shaped bends. The ends are used in securing the decorative holder to items such as a Christmas tree or decorative wreath, for placement over two spaced apart elements such as two Christmas tree branches, or attached between an outer and inner circular ring to form a wreath template.
Abstract:
A gathering gauge for assisting in the fabrication of a gather in a sewn article of manufacture. The gathering gauge is used to evenly distribute a given length of a fabric over a selected gather length, thereby eliminating guess work normally associated with such task. The gathering gauge is an elongated member defining a first slit for receiving and holding one end of a thread used to gather the fabric. A plurality of second slits is provided for receiving and holding a further portion of the thread. The second slits are disposed along the length of the gathering gauge at pre-selected distances from the first slit. A measuring guide is provided for determining the distance between the first slit and each individual second slit. Thus, depending upon the length of the fabric to be gathered, and either the length of the gather or the amount of gather desired, a particular second slit is selected.
Abstract:
A method for the manufacture of a semifinished material prepares such material for the subsequent production of a flower-like or petal-like decoration. For this purpose an initially flat band ribbon or tape material, that is sufficiently flexible for the subsequent folding to form pleat-like folds, is provided in its lengthwise direction with at least one drawstring which itself is also sufficiently flexible. The drawstring is secured at spaced intervals to the flat material, so that the drawstring is free from the flat material outside the securing points or areas. In these free intervals or spacings the drawstring is not covered by the flat material such as a flexible ribbon. At least one longitudinal edge of the flat material is provided with a non-linear contour which subsequently helps forming a flower or petal-like appearance. The free or non-covered sections of the drawstring are so dimensioned that a desired folding size of the pleat-like folds, to be formed later simply by pulling on the drawstring, is achieved.
Abstract:
An artificial-flower-forming ribbon having an overlapped pair of strips and strings placed longitudinally in the middle of strips and therebetween. One end of the string is joined to those of the strips, and both strips are adhered to each other at a plurality of line areas spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the strips so as to permit relative movements of the strips and the strings. The line areas are inclined with respect to the widthwise direction of the strips, the inclinations being alternately reverse.
Abstract:
A ribbon assembly including face-to-face bow ribbons attached together at spaced locations around a pull member attached to their ends that can be pulled to gather the bow ribbons into a bow. Upon such pulling an end portion of the assembly is pulled between the attachment locations to hold the bow ribbons together in the shape of a bow.
