摘要: Hydrothermal pretreatment of mechanically compressed straw in unagitated reactors provides a simple and inexpensive solution to poor C5 monomer yields with autohydrolysis processes. Unlike raw straw, compressed straw pellets or briquettes can be pretreated on commercial scale using unagitated batch reactors or simplified unagitated continuous systems. The chemistry of hydrothermal pretreatment is thereby altered such that loss of C5 sugars to unwanted byproduct reactions is reduced. With compressed straw, water content can be introduced within the reactor while it is pressurized, which reduces energy costs and capital expense. Provided are methods of processing straw feedstocks using semi-continuous or continuous systems and a pretreatment reactor adapted to processes compressed straw with high throughput through a small reactor volume in which water content is added within the reactor under pressure.

摘要: The present invention relates to [1] a process for producing a lignin degradation product, including the following steps (1) to (3), and [2] a lignin degradation product produced by the process as described in the above [1]: Step (1): subjecting a lignocellulose raw material to enzymatic saccharification treatment to obtain a saccharification residue; Step (2): subjecting the saccharification residue obtained in the step (1) to heat treatment in a mixed solvent containing water and an organic solvent having a solubility in 20° C. water of not less than 90 g/L to obtain a heat treatment solution containing the lignin degradation product; and Step (3): subjecting the heat treatment solution obtained in the step (2) to solid-liquid separation to remove insoluble components from the heat treatment solution, thereby obtaining the lignin degradation product. The present invention provides a process for producing a novel lignin degradation product having a low degree of denaturation, a high solubility in solvents and a high versatility with a high yield.

Each row of teeth includes teeth and channels disposed intermediate the teeth. Each of the teeth have an upper, top surface, a radially inner face extending from the channel base surface to the tooth top surface, and a radially outer face extending from the channel base surface to the tooth top surface. The teeth inner and outer faces each have a groove extending from the tooth top surface to a position intermediate the tooth top surface and the channel base surface.

摘要: Apparatus and method are provided for treating a fluid mass or stock, particularly couch stock in paper making. Stock material is fed into a vessel having a mixing arrangement comprising rotatably arranged processing means. At lest two processing means are caused to rotate mutually adjacent in opposite direction and essentially horizontally. The stock at the upper surface of the means is conveyed towards a wall portion of the vessel, whereby spirals arranged in an inclined manner at a core of the processing means bring stock into channels defined by the core, by the spirals, and by the wall portion of the vessel, and further towards a constriction formed by the respective spiral elements running in an intermeshed manner, while a part of the stock is forced in a direction away from a discharge of the vessel.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for acoustic fiber fractionation using a plane ultrasonic wave field interacting with water suspended fibers circulating in a channel flow using acoustic radiation forces to separate fibers into two or more fractions based on fiber radius, with applications of the separation concept in the pulp and paper industry. The continuous process relies on the use of a wall-mounted, rectangular cross-section piezoelectric ceramic transducer to selectively deflect flowing fibers as they penetrate the ultrasonic field. The described embodiment uses a transducer frequency of approximately 150 kHz. Depending upon the amount of dissolved gas in water, separation is obtained using a standing or a traveling wave field.

摘要: A device and a process for delumping pasty masses in waste materials from paper manufacture. The delumping means employs at least one rotating cylindrical drum having a plurality of flexible fingers mounted on the drum. Pasty masses are supplied to the delumper preferably by a chute mounted to the top of the delumper, and are struck by the flexible fingers of the rotating drum. Annular recesses are formed at the base of the flexible fingers which mates with a plurality of bores in the drum housings. Preferably, the fingers are rubber.

摘要: A substance kneader, specifically for cellulose fiber suspensions, with kneading elements arranged at the periphery of a rotor encased in a housing. Two drum type rotor parts and a rotor part disposed in between feature a feed worm conveyor for each rotor part. In the area between facing ends of the worm conveyors, and symmetric to this area, are the inlet openings of the housing. On the ends away from each other, of the rotor parts, are the outlet openings of the housing. The outlet openings are each coordinated with delivery worm conveyors having variable-RPM drive for control of throughput and/or dwell time of the substance to be kneaded.
