In a method of manufacturing a concrete sleeper with at least one embedded rail clip anchoring device, the floor of a mould, from which the sleeper is to be formed, is provided with an aperture through which the head of an anchoring device is inserted and before concrete is introduced into the mould the aperture is sealed off around its edges and around the underside of the head of the anchoring device by placing a sealing plate over the aperture on the floor of the mould, the plate overlapping and sealing around the edges of the aperture other than where the anchoring device is located and having a mating interface with the anchoring device such that a seal is formed therewith.

    摘要: A rail securement clip is disclosed as having a base having an opening therethrough for receiving an anchor projecting from a foundation, a nose extending laterally of the base from the upper portion of the base and overlying the foot of the rail, and a pair of spaced apart fingers affixed to the nose and to an upper portion of the base. The through opening in the base has an orifice positioned in the space between the fingers. The base and fingers form a recess into which the anchor projects. Securement means may be fastened to the anchor and positioned within the recess to hold the apparatus against the rail and thereby secure the rail to the foundation. The nose may include a rubber pad means engaging the foot of the rail to provide an energy absorbing securement of the rail. The through opening in the base may have an open side facing in the direction of the lateral extension of the nose from the base so that the anchor projecting through the opening may be positioned adjacent to or in engagement with the foot of the rail.

A wooden railroad tie is impregnated and covered with a thin layer of polypropylene which serves to protect the tie both from the weather and from mechanical abuse. The tie is apertured to receive rail mounting hardware. A bottom plate is secured to the underside of the tie and carries threaded fastening means mating the tie apertures. A top plate overlies the tie, carries a channel for receiving the rail, and is apertured to mate the tie apertures. A pair of apertured clips have extended arms overlying the prepositioned rail. Bolts are passed through the clips, the top plate, the tie and into the fasteners in the bottom plate to reliably secure the rail to the tie. In addition to its application in conventional track laying or track repairing situations, the invention allows manufacture of track in transportable prefabricated track and tie sections, which may be positioned and joined on site by simply welding adjacent rails.

    摘要: A rail seat and support structure for mounting, cushioning, anchoring and insulating a rail. A flexible rail seat is provided with the rail seat being of resilient material and having surfaces assisting in forming a recess. The recess is open to the exterior of the rail seat on its upper surface and has an interior configuration corresponding to the base flange and the lower portion of the vertical portion of the rail so as to receive and engage those portions of the rail in insulating, cushioning and bearing relationship. The rail seat also has at least one interior chamber adjacent to each side of the rail and a bar in each of the chambers. A base plate having a horizontal portion and two spaced upright longitudinal side walls is present and the rail seat is positioned in the base between the side walls and is adapted to receive the rail in substantially parallel relationship with the side walls. A clamping plate is positioned on the upper surface of the rail seat on both sides of the rail and mounting means are present for fastening the assembled rail seat and support structure to a rail bed so as to maintain the rail seat and support structure in assembled arrangement, connected to the rail bed, and to retain the rail in mounted, cushioned and insulated position.

    摘要: The invention relates to a rail fastening arrangement for securing a flat bottom rail on a foundation having preformed holes therein. There is provided a baseplate on which the flat bottom of the rail is adapted to rest and means for securing the baseplate to the preformed holes in the foundation. A pair of rail clips is provided one on each side of the rail with bolt means passing through a bolt aperture in each clip and engaging in a preformed bolt hole in the baseplate. Each clip has symmetrically spaced about its bolt aperture at least one pair of projecting heel lugs and the baseplate has symmetrically spaced about its bolt hole a complementary number of recesses adapted to receive and locate the clip heel lugs. Each clip is engageable with the baseplate with its lugs received and locates in the baseplate recesses, in at least two alternative dispositions. Each clip has for each lug a respective rail foot abutting and clamping shoulder, one of which rail foot abutting and clamping shoulders faces inwardly towards the rail foot for each alternative disposition of engagement of the clip with the baseplate and for each clip, each respective rail foot abutting and clamping shoulder is differentially spaced from the centre of the bolt aperture of the clip.
