摘要: A method for logging in a well is disclosed. The method includes securing a passive logging while levitating (PLWL) assembly to a bottomhole assembly (BHA) to form a logging assembly and running the logging assembly into a wellbore of the well. The method further includes detecting a deviation in the wellbore, detecting a fluid flow direction around the logging assembly in the wellbore, activating the PLWL assembly based, at least in part, on the deviation in the wellbore and the fluid flow direction, and levitating the logging assembly in a center of the wellbore. The method also includes determining whether the logging assembly has reached a target depth and performing logging in the well while the logging assembly is levitating in the center of the wellbore.

摘要: A pigging tool may include a housing positionable in a pipeline. The housing may define a bypass channel that extends along an axis that is nonparallel to a longitudinal axis of the housing. An energy generation device can be positioned in the bypass channel of the housing such that fluid is receivable by the energy generation device to generate energy for the pigging tool. Further, an energy storage device may store energy generated from the energy generation device. The energy storage device may provide the pigging tool with energy to perform one or more operations in the pipeline.

摘要: A method for controlling a pump-down operation in a wellbore includes selecting a target value for downhole tension of a support cable and a recommended job speed to convey a wireline tool string down a section of the wellbore, generating a line speed signal for controlling a line speed of the support cable and a pumprate signal to control a pumprate of a hydraulic fluid in the wellbore, determining a first error between the target value for downhole tension and a measured value of the downhole tension, determining a second error between the recommended job speed and an actual line speed, and maintaining the target value for the downhole tension by simultaneously controlling the line speed and the pumprate using a value for the line speed signal and a value for the pumprate signal generated based on the first and second errors.

摘要: A jarring tool used to dislodge a stuck tubular string or bottom hole assembly within an underground wellbore. A funnel element is placed underground either within, or as part of, a tubular string. A deformable ball may be seated within the funnel element to block fluid from passing within the tubular string. Hydraulic pressure may build within the tubular string until it exceeds the pressure the ball can withstand. This will cause the ball to deform and be expelled through the funnel element. With no ball to block its flow, fluid will be rapidly released through the funnel element. The rapid release of fluid will cause a powerful jarring or jolting to the tubular string or bottom hole assembly. Deformed balls may be captured in a cartridge chamber installed within the drill string and sized to create turbulent fluid flow within the drill string.

The liner includes an outer tubular member, a hydraulic actuator on an outer surface of the outer tubular member for hydraulically setting a packer of the liner, and a hydraulic channel for directing fluid through the outer tubular member and into the hydraulic actuator to set the packer. The hydraulic channel has a first port at an inner surface of the outer tubular member and a second port at the outer surface of the outer tubular member at an axial location of the hydraulic actuator. The first port is at a different axial location of the outer tubular member than the second port. A fluid is pumped through the hydraulic channel into the hydraulic actuator to set the packer.
