    摘要: A cutting assembly for a mining machine includes a central hub having at least one arm extending radially outwards from the central hub. The arm includes at least one cutting means carrier movably arranged for radial movement along the arm and a primary actuator configured to control the radial position of the cutting means carrier. The cutting assembly further includes a locking means movable between an unlocked and a locked position, wherein the locking means in its locked position locks the cutting means carrier to the arm such that radial movement of the cutting means carrier is prevented. The locking means includes at least one locking member provided on the arm such that the locking member is movable between an extended position and a withdrawn position. The locking member in the extended position extends to engage the cutting means carrier such that movement of the cutting means carrier is prevented.

The machine further includes a side stabilizer, and can cut a rectangular profile without leaving cusps left on the side wall.

    摘要: A mineral mining machine of the type having a boom-mounted cutter assembly carried by a mobile base unit is provided with a face support structure which is pivotally mounted on the boom. Fluid operable rams are provided for moving the structure between a stowed position lying adjacent the boom and an operational face supporting position perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the boom. The face support structure is brought into operation when it is desired to afford temporary support to a face of a ripping lip for example, in arch setting operations. In this latter respect, the boom also carries a stowable platform which can be opened out so that operatives may position themselves to handle arch sections which are elevated into position by a lifting mechanism also pivotally mounted on the boom.

    摘要: Apparatus for forming bores and coal seams and the like and enlarging preexisting bores. A mining machine includes a nonrotatable body member, a conveyor in line with the body member, a pilot head, and a pair of wing cutters mounted to the body member for pivotal movement with respect to the body member. Structure is provided for moving coal or the like cut by the wing cutters during out-cutting toward the sides of the bore, the structure including a pair of shields, one associated with each wing cutter and disposed between the wing cutter and the body member and pilot head, and a generally conical member coaxial with the shaft for rotation of the pilot head. Stabilization of the body member, etc., within the bore is provided by a pair of wheel sets spaced along the length of the conveyor, and a pair of right angle guide members vertically displaced from the wheel structure of one the wheel sets. The back set of wheels may include a pair of vertically spaced wheels on each side of the conveyor, one wheel of each set engaging the roof of the bore while the other wheel engages the floor, and the roof engaging wheel and floor engaging wheel may both be vertically adjustable. A roof cutter may also be provided including a cutting drum rotatable about a horizontal axis and a pair of chain cutters rotating the cutting drum and connected to a horizontal shaft that is stationary with respect to the body member.
