    摘要: A passive magnetic bearing employs eddy currents in a copper core between neodymium annular magnets to support the copper core and an associated rotating shaft. The copper core has an annular flange that is coaxial with a hollow cylinder. The hollow cylinder supports a rotating shaft. An annular iron core is coaxial with and surrounds the annular flange. Annular neodymium magnets surround the upper and lower portions of the hollow cylinder. In some embodiments a touch-down bearing is made up of an upper and a lower bearing race that are spaced away from the upper surface and lower surface of the annular flange. The core rotates over the bearing race(s) until sufficient magnetic flux is generated to support the copper core and hence the shaft. Once spinning, a magnetic field is generated in the copper core.

    摘要: A high performance hybrid turbine is provided which has an impeller towards which a fluid flow of water, air, or other fluid is conveyed for rotation of the impeller around an axis of rotation. The impeller exploits the thrusts that the fluid flow exerts on the elements constituting the impeller and the thrusts generated by a certain number of airfoils provided inside the elements of the impeller. The high performance hybrid turbine, if used as a wind turbine, can operate at much higher wind speeds than conventional wind turbines.

    摘要: An energy-producing system comprising an axle configured to be driven by an electric vehicle's wheels when in motion. The axle supports a series of wind-catching cups contained within an aerodynamic housing configured to direct air to the cups while also increasing the air speed. During vehicle motion, the cups are acted upon by rushing air causing the rotation of the axle such that the rotation may be transferred into energy via a generator/alternator linked thereto. A series of similarly polarized magnets integrated on said cups and/or spacers and/or housing proximate thereto further maintain the axle in motion during short vehicle stops. The system extends the life of the batteries between charges as well the distance the vehicle can travel between charges. A power controller is configured to distribute power from said generator to an axle drive motor, vehicle drive motor and/or start-up battery pack.

    摘要: A span-wise extending pin for joining blade segments of a rotor blade includes a distal portion having a length defined by a first end and an opposing, second end. The distal portion has a conical shape extending for at least a portion of the length thereof for providing ease of insertion of the pin into a pin joint slot of one of the first and second blade segments. The pin also includes a pin portion adjacent to the distal portion. The pin portion includes a first section and a second section.
