Abstract: A ball valve for use in a hydraulic supply system is described. The ball valve includes a valve body defining a fluid passage including an inlet and an outlet, a ball having an opening therethough and having an open position and a closed position within the fluid passage and a normal operating range between the open position and the closed position, a manual valve operation mechanism, an input shaft connected to the manual valve operation mechanism, and a gearing assembly including an output shaft, the gearing assembly connected to the input shaft and the output shaft connected to the ball. Rotation of the manual valve operation mechanism causes rotation of the ball along a full operating range within the valve body and the gearing assembly includes a feedback mechanism that is actuated after the ball has rotated outside of the normal operating range.

Abstract: Disclosed is a valve for use in particulate material processing. The valve has a rotatable closure member having a convex sealing surface and a resilient sealing ring moveable between a first configuration in which the sealing ring forms a seal around a circumference of the convex sealing surface; and a second position in which a circumferential gap is defined between the convex sealing surface and the sealing ring. The valve body defines a fluid-directing surface extending around the fluid passage between the inlet and the sealing ring to define an annular clearance which tapers towards the sealing ring and becomes narrower than the annular gap. When there is a pressure drop across the valve and before the closure member is moved to fully open the valve, material flowing through the valve experiences a dynamic pressure rise towards the circumferential gap, decreasing flow velocity and wear.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include ball valves with an asymmetric seal and seat, to minimize seal wear. In embodiments, a seal is disposed upon a ball with a first and second section, where the first section of the seal is disposed at a different angle from the second section. A seat has a first and second section at different angles that correspond to angles of the first and second section of the seal, respectively, such that the seal fully contacts the seat when the ball is in a closed position. When the ball is rotated to an open position, the different angles of the first and second sections allow the second section of the seal to clear the first section of the seat without contact.

Abstract: A control valve assembly includes a valve body defining an inlet, an outlet and a fluid flow pathway therebetween.
