摘要: A process and system is provided to allow rehabilitation of asbestos concrete (AC) pipe to remain in place while rendering the AC pipe harmless, in a manner that protects the ecosystem and saves huge amounts of money lost to bypass, digging, remediation and disposal. The method and system provide for encapsulation of the old AC pipe in place without any digging or disruption to the surrounding area. No dewatering is required, saving the costs required with dewatering. There is minimal disruption to the community's use of the piping system while completing the repair, as such repairs can be done on a manhole-to-manhole basis. Finally, there are no hazardous material disposal requirements, or the costs associated therewith.

摘要: Methods and systems of no-dig repair of relatively narrow pipelines, with infrequent repair access points, are disclosed where multiple stitched or bonded layers of woven or nonwoven resin-saturated fabrics are wrapped around a partially deflated packer, which is pushed or pulled to the point of repair. At the point of repair, the packer is remotely inflated to push the stitched layers of fabric to the inside wall of the pipe and the pressure is sustained until the resin is cured or partially cured. Then the packer is deflated and retracted from the pipe. The fabric layers are stitched or bonded together in such a relative arrangement that each layer will overlap itself after the stitched layers are wrapped around and attached to the pipe.

摘要: An inflatable stent for use in the repair and maintenance of pipes such as water or gas supply pipes, or for use as a medical device comprises an inflatable portion having an inner and outer membrane. When inflated, the inner and outer membranes are radially spaced apart to define an annular space there between. The inner membrane defines a passage between a first and second end and the outer membrane defines a first diameter (D1) of the stent. The inner and outer membranes are connected by a plurality of connecting members in the annular space. End caps are disposed on the first and second ends of the stent which connect the inner and outer membranes. The inflatable portion further comprises an inflatable pipe or lumen engaging portion that defines a second, larger diameter (D2) of the stent, when inflated.

摘要: A CIPP liner reel system for managing the utilization and deployment of CIPP liners. The CIPP liner reel system generally includes a frame connected to a reel and drive unit. The drive unit is connected to the reel to control the rotation of its core. This core contains an opening that provides access to a connector unit within the core. This connector unit can be used to connect the reel to the end of a CIPP liner using a strap. Rotation of the core causes CIPP liner to wind on to or unwind from the reel. The reel may also contain a left guide member and a right guide member to assist in controlling the process of winding and unwinding the CIPP liner. The frame may also include a tractor connector that enables the CIPP liner reel system to be coupled to and transported by a tractor without affecting its operation.

摘要: Systems and methods for reinforcement of tubular structures via composite internal dowels are provided herein. The hardening of a curable fill inside a flexible sleeve provides conformal contact between the resulting dowel and the surrounding tubular structure. Permeation of the fill through the sleeve may improve the bond. Attachment of the sleeve to a narrower tube may allow for precise positioning of the sleeve as well as a reduction in the amount of fill required. Ultimately, the internal dowels may extend past a degraded section of the tubular structure from a selected lower limit below the degraded section to a selected upper limit above the degraded section.
