摘要： A cigarette lighter has a removable fuel cartridge with a reservoir for holding flammable liquid fuel, a valve for controlling the flow of fuel into and from the reservoir, an ignition actuator for causing ignition of the fuel, a nozzle for causing the ignited fuel to form a lighting flame, and a valve actuator that cooperates with the ignition actuator to open the valve as the ignition actuator is actuated. The reservoir has a transparent portion which is aligned with a window in the lighter housing to allow external observation of the fuel level in the reservoir. The transparent portion includes indicia for gauging the amount of fuel. The indicia is structurally contoured to provide means for engaging the reservoir to remove the fuel cartridge from the lighter.

摘要： A lighter comprises an inner lighter housing and an outer housing that slideably fits over the inner lighter housing to form a two chamber structure. An illumination assembly attaches to the lighter. The illumination assembly comprises a light emitting diode (LED) on an inside portion of the illumination assembly, positioned such that when lit, the LED illuminates the inside portion of inner lighter housing and the outer lighter housing. The inner and outer housings at least somewhat transparent, so as the illuminate an ambient portion of the atmosphere proximate to the lighter. A decorative insert can be provided between the inner lighter hosing and the outer lighter hosing.

摘要： A utility lighter includes a housing having an elongated tube portion, an actuation button depressibly mounted at a housing portion of the housing, a safety wheel rotated and mounted at the actuation button, and a blocker driven to move by a rotational movement of the safety wheel between an inoperative configuration and an operative configuration. In the inoperative configuration, the blocker is retained in the housing portion of the housing to prevent a depressible head of a piezoelectric element from being depressed by the actuation button for ignition. In the operative configuration, the safety wheel is rotated at the actuation button to drive the blocker to diminish undesirable position, so that the actuation button is depressed to depress the depressible head of the piezoelectric element and to actuate the valve actuator for ignition.

摘要： The lighter of the present invention provides a slip ring which is concentrically mounted about the striking wheel assembly of a conventional lighter. To operate the lighter, digital pressure is applied to frictionally couple the slip ring and the striking wheel assembly together to move in concert to create a spark. The slip ring has disposed along its circumference an elongated slot. The ends of the slot engage the flint housing to halt the movement of the ring, serving to limit the range of motion of the slip ring, and, hence, the motion of the striking wheel assembly. Lastly, the slip ring includes protrusions which hold the slip ring in a neutral position until force is applied in a backward direction to disengage the slip ring.
