    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for drying harvested products using a mobile drying system are disclosed. According to some embodiments, a refractance window dryer is implemented on a mobile platform that includes two mobile units (e.g., trailers or transportable skid mounted assemblies) that may be transported to a remote location (e.g., at a harvest location). A first mobile unit may include a refractance window dryer module, and a second mobile unit may include utility equipment that supports operation of the refractance window dryer module.

    Abstract: A continuous dryer heat exchanger device has a plurality of heat exchanger units. Waste air of an associated dryer section of the associated continuous dryer is guided through an individual heat exchanger unit and contaminants from the waste air are deposited in the heat exchanger unit. A cleaning device for cleaning the continuous flow heat exchanger device of the contaminants is thereby provided, which cleaning device has a plurality of cleaning units. An associated heat exchanger unit is to be cleaned by means of the individual cleaning unit. A switching device is provided, by means of which the cleaning units are to be switched in series one after the other.

    Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods, and processes for drying a softgel having a hydrophilic fill material and one or more active ingredients. After forming the hydrophilic softgel, for example, the softgel is dried by sequentially passing the softgel through a series of specific drying conditions, in which the first drying condition has a low temperature and low dew point. In certain examples, controlled airflow is also used to dry the softgels. By using the systems, methods, and processes, the total time to dry the hydrophilic softgel can be beneficially reduced from several days to about 24 hours without causing shriveling of the softgel.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for thermally drying pasty products, in particular wastewater sludge, and a belt dryer implementing such a method. The principle consists of partitioning the drying operations and using, for each of the successive operations, a different quality of air: (i) hot air for “searing” the sludge, (ii) low temperature air, then (iii) cold air for quenching the sludge before the extraction of same. Also proposed are loops of air supply circuits making it possible to optimize the energy consumption of the dryer by reusing energy produced within these circuits. Moreover, the loops make it possible to recover unavoidable low temperature energy or cheap energy, further optimising the consumption of the dryer.

    Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for drying a cereal grass, such as alfalfa, barley, clover, rye grass, Timothy grass, and the stalks, stems, grains and leaves of a cereal grass, such as oats, wheat, buckwheat, maize, millet, rice and sorghum. The systems include a first pressing roll and a second pressing roll that form a nip through which the cereal grass or forage crop can be pressed, pressing the liquid out of the cereal grass or forage crop to form a first product stream comprising a dewatered cereal grass or forage crop and a second product stream comprising liquid pressed out of the cereal grass or forage crop; at least one suction device for collecting the second product stream; an atomizer for converting the second product stream into droplets that can be applied to the surface of the first product stream; a drying chamber; and a circulation system for moving a drying medium through the drying chamber.

    Abstract: Apparatus and method for drying a product comprising placing the product on a first side of a support surface, and directing dry radiant heat toward the second side of the surface to heat the product. A sensor can be included to measure at least one characteristic of the product, such as the temperature or moisture content thereof. The temperature of the heat source can be regulated as a function of the measured characteristic. The support surface can also be made so as to be movable relative to the heat source. In an alternative embodiment, a plurality of control zones are defined and through which the product is successively passed. Each of the control zones has at least one associated heat source and an associated sensor so as to regulate the temperature of the heat sources associated with each control zone independently of those associated with another zone.
