The scanner is designed to scan the incremental markings with a variable scanning frequency. The scanning frequency can be adaptively varied in relation to a currently acquired frequency of the analog signal progression, wherein the variable scanning frequency measures at least twice the currently acquired frequency of the analog signal progression.

    摘要: An input device with dual induction coils and a rotation motion output method thereof are described, in which the input device moves on a trace capture device, such that the trace capture device outputs a trace signal to an electronic device. When the input device is rotated on the trace capture device, two coils within the input device respectively send an induction signal to the trace capture device. Then, the trace capture device respectively converts the two induction signals to two position signals, so as to determine displacement amounts and rotation directions of the two position signals, such that the trace capture device outputs a rotation signal to the electronic device, and the electronic device correspondingly executes a motion instruction according to the rotation signal.

    摘要: Position measurements are often performed using a localization system with a given fixed capture range and accuracy and resolution. Having a fixed capture range often comes at the cost of decreased accuracy and resolution. At the start, a large capture range is provided where the accuracy and resolution is low. In this large capture area, the target area can be identified and aimed at. With this identification, a smaller capture range is iteratively provided and centered around the region of interest, which leads to an increased accuracy and resolution.

    摘要: A hoisting rope for an elevator includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced, discrete targets retained within the rope. The targets have a characteristic that may be monitored by a device that is responsive to that characteristic. In a particular embodiment, the targets are formed from a magnetically permeable material and the monitoring device responds to changes in the magnetic field as the target passes the monitoring device. In another embodiment, the targets are formed from material that reflects electromagnetic energy. In this embodiment, the monitoring device emits electromagnetic energy and is sensitive to the energy that is reflected back from the target. A method to inspect the hoisting ropes includes the steps of positioning the monitoring device proximate to the hoisting rope, moving the hoisting rope relative to the device, and monitoring the targets to determine the spacing between targets. Changes in spacing are indicative of stretching of the rope, and thereby degradation of the rope.

    摘要: An edge detector is provided for determining the axial position of the leading or trailing edge of a rotating blade within rotating machinery. The edge detector includes a set of axially spaced tip detection probes locatable within a casing of the machinery. Each probe is arranged to detect whether or not the blade tip passes over that probe. The edge detector determines the axial position of the edge of the blade as the position of the boundary between those tip detection probes which detect passage of the blade tip thereover and those tip detection probes which detect no passage of the blade tip thereover.

    摘要: A method of determining the depth of equipment in an underground borehole, the equipment being suspended in the borehole by means of a cable extending from the surface into the well, comprises: (i) determining the amount of cable introduced into the well at the surface; (ii) dividing the cable in the borehole into a series of elements; (iii) determining the tension in each element of the cable in the borehole; (iv) determining the stretch of the cable in the borehole for the determined tension in all elements; and (v) determining the depth of the equipment from the determined amount of cable introduced into the well from the surface and from the determined stretch of the cable in the borehole. The method can be used for correcting a depth measurement or determining an error in a depth measurement made on the cable at the surface by determining a correction factor using the methodology described above. The correction or error determination can be applied directly to log data as well as to the depth measurement.

The toothed ring can be molded out of an elastomeric material containing finely divided particulates that are magnetically permeable. The molded, toothed ring includes magnetically permeable projecting teeth which magnetically interact with a magnetic field generated in a speed sensor to provide a pulsating voltage related to vehicle wheel speed. The toothed ring can be an integral part of an oil seal or wear sleeve positioned between a vehicle axle and wheel hub.
