摘要: A bearing assembly includes an inner bearing ring, an outer bearing ring and rolling bodies located between the inner bearing ring and the outer bearing ring. A gap is defined by a radially outer surface of the inner bearing ring and a radially inner surface of the outer bearing ring. The radially inner surface of the outer bearing ring includes a first radial surface portion that is offset a greater distance from a center of the bearing than a second radial surface portion. The first and second radial surface portions are connected by a sloped surface. A sealing arrangement located in the gap. The sealing arrangement includes a first annular body including an elastomeric sealing protrusion to contact the sloped surface of the outer bearing ring.

摘要: Disclosed herein are embodiments of method for detecting degradation of a connecting rod big end bearing within an internal combustion engine including a crankshaft and an exhaust manifold included on a vehicle. A method includes providing an electronic control unit connected with the engine, a first set of sensors for detecting crankshaft acceleration connected located adjacent the crankshaft, a second set of sensors for detecting engine exhaust manifold pressure located adjacent the engine exhaust manifold, and a display component and an auditory component connected with the electronic control unit. The display component and/or the auditory component is activated when the first set of sensors detects diminished crankshaft acceleration during a power stroke compared to prior acceleration of the crankshaft during a power stroke and the second set of sensors detects exhaust manifold pressure that does not vary statistically significantly from expected exhaust manifold pressure.

摘要: An encoder includes a rotatable encoder disc. A clamp is fixed to the encoder disc to rotate therewith. The clamp includes an arcuately extending body presenting a radially inner face and arcuately spaced apart ends defining a gap therebetween. The inner face extends along a clamping path and engages a rotating component to secure the clamp to the rotating component to rotate therewith. The clamp includes an adjustment mechanism for modifying an arcuate extent of the gap by shifting the ends relative to one another and, in turn, modifying the clamping path. The body defines a radially extending cutout facilitating bending of the body in association with expansion or contraction of the gap and modification of the clamping path. The clamp includes a raised boss extending from a front face thereof. The boss presents a contact face spaced axially from the front face and fixedly engaging the encoder disc.

A sensor is disposed on any one of an inner ring, an outer ring and the first seal.
