摘要: Electro-optical apparatus for locating the surface of an object. A laser projects a beam along one axis. Light from the beam which is reflected by an impinged object is viewed along another axis, and is transmitted to a linear (straight-line) photodetector array. The array is specially oriented angularly relative to the viewing axis and to the laser beam axis, whereby, within the selected dynamic range of the apparatus, reflected light transmitted to the array is, under all circumstances, in sharp focus along the plane of the array.

摘要: A measurement system includes an illumination unit, imaging unit, acquisition unit and correction unit. A measurement target is irradiated with illumination light. The imaging unit captures an image of light reflected by or transmitted through the measurement target. The acquisition unit acquires positional relationship information representing a positional relationship between the illumination unit and the measurement target and between the imaging unit and the measurement target. The correction unit corrects a luminance of at least one of the illumination light emitted by the illumination unit and the captured image based on the positional relationship information in such a way as to correct a luminance change of the measurement target image, wherein at least two of the measurement target, the illumination unit, and the imaging unit are variable in spatial position.

摘要: An optoelectronic inclination sensor determines the inclination of a reference plane relative to the horizontal. A sensor body has a liquid layer, the free surface of which represents a horizon that can be inclined relative to the reference plane, forming an optical boundary to the adjacent medium. A light source disposed below the liquid layer emits a light beam onto the boundary. An optical sensor surface below the liquid layer detects the light beam reflected by the boundary. An analysis unit determines the inclination of the reference plane as a function of the amount of light received by the sensor surface. A deflecting element for deflecting or initially totally reflecting the beam is disposed between the source and the liquid layer. The beam is inclined as a result of said deflection or initial total reflection. A second total reflection occurs at the boundary in both the inclined and non-inclined orientation.

摘要: A method of monitoring the location, and the orientation of a machine element, and apparatus for monitoring and controlling the operation of the machine include a robotic total station and a plurality of targets in known positions relative to the machine element. The total station, located at a known location near the machine element, repeatedly, successively determines the location of each target. Acquisition and re-acquisition of the targets is aided by stored data regarding the prior locations and movements of the targets. Further, active targets may be used to facilitate re-acquisition. The operation of the machine is controlled based upon the location and orientation of the machine element.

摘要: An automated photogrammetric instrument adapted to observe conjugate areas in a stereo-pair of photographs for the purpose of determining terrain elevation and for carrying out other measurements. In order to measure X-parallax, the instrument includes means to scan each of the photographs along a path in which X-parallax is present, but which is substantially free of Y-parallax and the effects of image rotation, thereby producing first and second video signals representative of the scanned paths in the pair of photographs. The first and second video signals are applied to a correlator to produce an output value reflecting the degree of differential X-parallax.

摘要: An electronic guide system is described that includes a fixed-location beacon located adjacent to a location which is associated with a plurality of landmarks to transmit electronic signals containing descriptive information of each of the landmarks. The guide system also includes a client device physically separated from the beacon to receive the electronic signals containing the descriptive information of each of the landmarks when placed by a user within a transmission range of the beacon. A viewing direction sensor is provided to determine viewing direction of the user to cause the client device to provide the user with the descriptive information of one of the landmarks at which the user is looking. An electronic guide system that includes a movable beacon is also described.

摘要: Apparatus capable of tridimensionally measuring the distance between two arbitrary points on the surface of a sample is disclosed. In apparatus wherein the surface of the sample to be observed is scanned with an energized beam, wherein a secondary radiation emitted from the sample is detected and wherein a sample image is displayed by making the detected signal a video signal, two sample images obtained by changing-over the incident angle of the beam on the sample surface are displayed, whereby the stereoscopic viewing of the sample surface is enabled. In this invention, there is added means for superposing and displaying marks at two positions of both the sample images as correspond to two arbitrary points on the sample surface and for automatically calculating the tridimensional distance between the two points on the sample surface on the basis of positioning signals of the marks.

摘要: A system for the discontinuous transformation of visual images utilizing a variable delay. The visual image to be transformed is first converted to a time-varying video signal. This signal is then converted to a digital signal which is fed to a delay circuit whose time delay can be instantaneously varied. The exemplary delay circuit shown includes a random access memory which is usedc to store and release the stored digital information as a function of the desired delay. The output of the delay circuit can then be inverted to achieve the transformed visual image.
