摘要: An underground nuclear power reactor having a hollow blast tunnel which extends from one end of a containment member which houses a nuclear reactor, heat exchanger, generator, etc. A hollow blast tunnel extends from one end of the containment member with a normally closed door positioned therebetween. The blast tunnel defines a blast chamber having a plurality of spaced-apart debris deflectors positioned therein. The blast chamber has an upper wall with a roof opening formed therein which is selectively closed by a roof portion. If the reactor needs to be repaired or replaced, the door is opened so that the reactor will pass therethrough into the blast chamber and outwardly through the roof opening. If the reactor explodes, the blast therefrom drives the debris therefrom through the door and into the blast chamber where the deflectors reduce the blast force as the debris passes through the blast chamber.

摘要: A process and an installation for the securing against excessive pressure in a prestressed concrete pressure vessel of a gas cooled high temperature reactor and for the prevention of activity release into the environment. The process comprises three steps and in each step pressure reducing installations become effective upon the rise of pressure in the prestressed concrete pressure vessel over a predetermined value. In the first step the pressure vessel is relieved by means of the operational gas purification apparatus and a conveying blower into the storage vessels for the cooling gas. In case of a further rise in pressure, in a second step a discharge path equipped with a safety valve and a check valve is opened, which also relieves into the storage vessels while by-passing the gas purification installation. In the third step, if the pressure continues to rise over a predetermined value, a line closed during normal operation by a rupture disk, is open, said line being connected with the discharge path and opening into the air circulation installation of the nuclear reactor plant. The air circulation installation is connected by means of a filter system with an exhaust stack.

摘要: A nuclear engineering plant has a containment, whose interior chamber is subdivided by a wall into a systems chamber and an operating chamber which is accessible during normal operation. The containment ensures a particularly high operational reliability, in particular also in incident situations, in which hydrogen is released in the systems chamber. For this purpose, a number of overflow openings are provided in the partition wall, the respective overflow opening is closed by a closure element of a closure apparatus which opens automatically when a trigger condition associated with the respective overflow opening is reached. Closure apparatuses are provided which open both as a function of pressure and independently of pressure. The closure apparatus furthermore has a closure element containing a bursting film or a bursting diaphragm. The closure apparatus is configured such that it frees the overflow opening automatically when a predetermined environment-side trigger temperature is reached.

摘要: A safety fitting for a pipe or vessel and contained within a flange coupling, the fitting being of the type which will close off flow as long as the pressure on one side of the fitting exceeds the pressure on the other side and will rupture to permit flow when the pressure on the other side exceeds that on the one side is shown. A rupture disc with radial grooves is placed on the one side which will normally be at higher pressure and is backed by a perforated support member placed on the other side such that under normal conditions the support member supports the rupture disc in the area of the grooves. If pressure on the other side exceeds that on the one side the disc is no longer supported and will rupture allowing flow through the fitting.

摘要: [Objective] An object is to provide a reactor which can cope with a core meltdown accident; i.e., can keep the soundness of a reactor pressure vessel and a reactor containment vessel and prevent release of radioactive substances to the outside even when a core meltdown accident occurs.
[Means for solution] A reactor 1 includes water-injection-to-core interruption means, provided for a possible core meltdown accident, for stopping injection of water into a core after occurrence of a zirconium-water reaction or film boiling in the core is detected on the basis of core pressure or the like. In order to remove core decay heat by natural cooling or water-cooling of the outer surface of a reactor pressure vessel 3 or the outer surface of a heat insulation 4 after injection of water into the core is stopped at the time of a core meltdown accident, the reactor 1 includes melting point restriction management means for managing a melting point restriction in material selection at the time of manufacture of the heat insulation 4 so that the heat insulation 4 melts and breaks without fail at the time of the core meltdown accident, or water injection means for injecting water into the space between the heat insulation 4 and a shield concrete 13.

摘要: In view of above problems, an object of the invention is to provide a primary containment vessel venting system having a structure capable of continuously discharging vapor in a primary containment vessel out of the system and continuously reducing pressure of the primary containment vessel without discharging radioactive noble gases to the outside of the containment vessel and without using an enclosing vessel or a power source. In order to achieve the above object, an nuclear power plant of the invention includes a primary containment vessel which includes a reactor pressure vessel, a radioactive substance separation apparatus which is disposed inside the primary containment vessel and through which the radioactive noble gases do not permeate but vapor permeates, a vent pipe which is connected to the radioactive substance separation apparatus, and an exhaust tower which is connected to the vent pipe and discharges a gas, from which a radioactive substance is removed, to the outside.
