Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for monitoring operations of a computer system comprising at least two execution units, wherein switching means are provided and make it is possible to switch at least two operating modes to each other and comparison means are provided, the first operating mode corresponds to the comparison mode and the second operating mode corresponds to the performance mode and the first operation is monitored by the second operation, in the comparison mode said second operation is run on at least two execution units and each second operation which is run on at least two execution units monitors the first operation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for switching over in a computer system having at least two execution units. According to the invention, switching occurs between at least two operating modes, a first operating mode corresponding to a comparison mode and a second operating mode corresponding to a performance mode. The invention is characterized in that the execution units can be connected to an internal bus of the computer system. In the performance mode, at least two execution units are connected to the internal bus and when switching between the performance mode and the comparison mode, at least one execution unit is disconnected from the internal bus by a switch controlled by the changeover switch.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for controlling a computer system comprising at least two execution units. Two operating modes are switched between, the first operating mode corresponding to a comparison mode and the second operating mode corresponding to a performance mode. The invention is characterized in that at least one quantity of run-time objects is defined. At least one identifier is assigned to each run-time object of the defined quantity, and the identifier assigns at least both operating modes to the run-time object.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for defining a start condition in a computer system comprising at least two execution units. According to said method, a first execution unit switches between a performance mode and a comparison mode, thereby creating a start condition for the comparison mode. The invention is characterised in that the second execution unit takes over the start condition created by the first execution unit in order to create the start condition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a program-controlled unit comprising a single controller core provided with a first and at least one second execution unit that can be independently operated in a first operating mode and execute the same commands in parallel in a second operating mode.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for processing data items and/or instructions during which the processing is different between at least two operating modes, and a first operating mode corresponds to a comparison mode and a second operating mode corresponds to a performance mode. During the comparison mode, a comparison unit is activated, and this comparison unit is deactivated in the performance mode. The invention is characterized in that the comparison unit is activated for the comparison mode according thereto, at least two identical data items and/or instructions are processed, and the at least identical data items and/or instructions are each distributed by a control unit to the at least two execution units.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for comparing data in a computer system comprising at least two execution units. According to said method, the data is compared in a comparison unit and each execution unit processes input data and creates output data. The invention is characterised in that one execution unit communicates with the comparison unit and stipulates that the next output date is to be compared with an output date of the second or subsequent execution units. A comparison of the two or more output dates then takes place.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for determining a start status of a computer system having at least two execution units, whereby it is possible to switch between a performance mode and a comparative mode and whereby a start status for the comparative mode is generated when switching from the performance mode to the comparative mode. The inventive method is characterized by providing memories or memory areas to be adapted with an identifier for the start status, said identifier informing whether the data and/or commands in these memories or memory areas have to be changed for the start status or may remain unchanged.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device and a method for switching in a computer system comprising at least two execution units, switching means being provided for switching between at least two operating modes, a first operating mode corresponding to a comparison mode and a second operating mode corresponding to a performance mode. The invention is characterised in that a programmable interruption controller is associated with each execution unit, and the inventive device is provided with a memory element in which information describing at least parts of a configuration of at least one of the interruption controllers is stored.
Abstract:
In order to improve the availability of a data processing system in spite of possible memory errors, the inventive method consists in verifying a dataword readout with the aid of redundant additional information, when the data word is extracted from a memory cell (SO) and, if the data word is falsified, in carrying out an error treatment process which makes it possible to verify (S1-S3) the operability of the memory cell and, in the case when said memory cell is operable, the content thereof (S1-S3) is again produced.
