Abstract:
A floor having an upper contact surface disposed atop an upper subfloor, the upper subfloor having a void with a height that is defined by opposing sidewalls of the first subfloor, a top that is defined by a bottom surface of the upper contact surface, a bottom that is defined by a top surface of a lower subfloor. A first resilient pad is disposed under compression within the void of the upper subfloor. The lower subfloor is disposed beneath and in contact with the upper subfloor. The lower subfloor has a void that is laterally offset from the void of the upper subfloor and a second resilient pad disposed within the void. A plurality of removable force transfer members are disposed within the void of the lower subfloor and above the second resilient pad for transferring vibrational forces and downward vertical forces to the second resilient pad.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to modular construction panels, floor panel and construction assemblies that can be made therewith. The construction panels comprise an insulation layer, a plurality of studs and a sheathing layer positioned adjacent the insulation layer. The sheathing layer is attached to plurality of studs through the insulation layer in order to reduce thermal bridging between the two. The floor panels comprise a plurality of floor joists extending between a first end of the floor panel and a second end of the floor panel, a floor sheet connected to each of the plurality of floor joists and a first end piece that comprises a first stud-aligning abutment, a second stud-aligning abutment and a stud-receiving slot positioned therebetween for receiving studs of the construction panels.
Abstract:
A building is constructed from a plurality of rectangular wall sections secured to one another. At least some wall sections are formed of an upper and a lower beam (12), vertical studs (50) extending between the upper and lower beams (12) and a wall panel secured to the beams (12) and to the studs (50). In the invention, each beam (12) is formed of an elongate metal sheet (120) folded through a right angle about at least one longitudinally extending line to define at least a horizontal (123) first plate, and a vertical (121) second. A plurality of separately formed sheet metal brackets (122, 124) are secured to at least one of the plates of the folded metal sheet (120) at preset distances from one another along the length of the beam and secured to the ends of the studs (50).
Abstract:
A building structure consists of a first factory-constructed section (1608) defining a habitable space and having a first edge with a first channel. A second factory-constructed section (1701) defines a second habitable space and as a second edge with a second channel. An elongate member 1902 is configured to locate in both the first channel and the second channel so has to force the first edge into contact with the second edge. The building structure may be made from building components in which connecting members connect first planar sub-assemblies to said second planar sub-assemblies defining a box assembly with a connecting member at a plurality of connecting locations within the box assembly. Planar materials are attached to the large outer surfaces of the box assembly to produce a closed box assembly. Solid foam material is located within the closed box assembly. The completed structure may have integrated guttering in which the guttering has a plurality of rib-like structures extending from an inner surface of a channel and extending over a hole, thereby restricting the access of solid material through the hole and into a discharge pipe.
Abstract:
A composite membrane of wood floor diaphragm for construction of new buildings and strengthening of existing buildings to provide improved load transfer capacity and enhanced resistance to gravity and lateral loads, such as earthquake and/or wind for buildings with wood floor framing. The aforementioned composite membrane is a system, comprised of four-way interlocking mosaic end grain parquet floor attached to a plywood subfloor beneath. A floor to floor sound blocking barrier that can operate in high eighty decibel and above range may preferably be installed under the subfloor.
Abstract:
A building structure (10) includes elements that are integrally connected by a poured bonding structure (18). The elements include a beam (14) having a cavity (28) that is configured to receive a pourable bonding material (18) and flooring sections (16) that are supported by the beams (14). The flooring sections (16) include voids (60) that open to a cavity (28). Inserts (62) are positioned in the voids (60) to control the limit the depth that the pourable bonding material (18) can flow into the voids (60) and to increase the strength of the poured bonding structure (18).
Abstract:
Structural members, building structures, and methods for making them, are provided that are less prone to develop squeaks. The methods include, in one aspect, placing at least one panel on the flange surfaces of joists with an activatable adhesive provided between the panel and the flange surfaces to bond the flange surfaces to the panels in an effective long lasting manner. In another aspect, adhesive is introduced into a groove array in a joist flange surface to attach a panel pre-positioned on the grooved flange surface. Building frame structures, such as subflooring assemblies, made by the methods are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a prefabricated module (4) for structures and in particular for the construction of walls and/or floor slabs through a dry mechanical connection between the elements also separately produced. The prefabricated module (4) comprises a supporting frame (8), at least one concrete slab (16) and a mesh (20) at least partially submerged in the said slab (16). Module (4) is characterised by the fact to comprise mechanical means of connection (24, 26) that mechanically connect the slab (16) to the supporting frame (8) by means of bushings (44).
