Abstract:
MTF characteristics of a concavo-convex forming apparatus change depending on the amount of amplitude of input data, the operation condition of the apparatus, etc., and therefore, it is not possible to form a concavo-convex shape with good characteristics only by applying the MTF correction technique widely known in the image processing field. A concavo-convex forming apparatus including an input unit configured to input concavo-convex data representing concavo-convex of an object to be printed, and a correction unit configured to perform correction in accordance with a plurality of frequency band of the input concavo-convex data and whose intensity is made higher for the larger amplitude on the input concavo-convex data based on frequency response characteristics in a case where concavo-convex is formed on a printing medium.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for printing a digital document on a plurality of cut sheets arranged in a cut sheet printing sequence order resulting in at least one reader spread in an end product, each cut sheet having a first side and a second side, the at least one reader spread consisting of two neighboring sides, each neighboring side of which is of a different cut sheet of the plurality of cut sheets and is intended to be printed upon by a digital page image of the digital document, wherein the method comprises the step of for each reader spread in an end product printing each digital page image corresponding to the reader spread on the first side of the corresponding cut sheet or printing each digital page image corresponding to the reader spread on the second side of the corresponding cut sheet. The invention also relates to a cut sheet printing system configured to apply the method.

Abstract:
It is disclosed a printer comprising a front opening through which one or more documents (D) to be treated could be introduced therein, wherein the printer comprises a first path for transporting said one or more documents (D) from a first position (A) to a second position and back to the first position (A); wherein the printer further comprises a second path for transporting said one or more documents (D) from said first position (A) to an exit, wherein said second path comprises a flap (41) for deviating said one or more documents (D) towards said exit and a separator (43) for directing the one or more documents (D) to one of a first tray (13u) and a second tray (13I).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device to design information for the printing of this information in the form of characters on an object, comprising: -a visual display screen (2), -means to define in this screen at least a first block and a second block to write information, -means (14) to define, in each of the blocks, a size of the characters to be inserted therein, and to create and optionally modify information in character form in each block, -means (14) to modify the size and/or type of characters in at least the first block, and automatically to modify the position of at least a second block.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, computer readable media and other means for generating a profile for a particular type of media are provided. The profile represents a set of preferred printing parameters to be used to achieve a target print quality for a reference printing device. The profile may be used by other non- reference printing devices in order to optimize printing for that type of media. For each non-reference printing device, an offset may be established that represents the differences between the non-reference and the reference printing devices. A processor of the non-reference printing device may identify the type of media and the profile for that media and then adjust the printing parameters for the non-reference printing device based on the profile and the offset in order to optimize the print quality. The profile may also include a parameter that is based on a temperature coefficient associated with the type of printer.
Abstract:
System and method for the addressing of mail pieces by a variable printing system. Information allowing a mail piece to be associated with a mailing list of address information is printed on the mail piece prior to processing of the piece by a variable printing system. As the piece is processed by the variable printing system, the information printed on the piece is read and used to identify a mailing list from among a plurality of available mailing lists. Address information for that mail piece is obtained from the identified mailing list and printed on the mail piece by the variable printing system.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for configuring a printer template (40) and a ticket printer (10) having a configurable template, Template attributes (36) are received at the printer and stored in printer memory (12). A processor (18) at the printer creates a template (40) from the template attributes (36). Print data (16) is provided to the printer memory. The print data is merg into the template to create a composite image (50). The composite image can then be printed on a substrate. The substrate may comprise a receipt, a lottery ticket, a coupon, a bus ticket, an airplane ticket, a train ticket, a gaming voucher, a slot machine voucher, or the like.
Abstract:
A computer-assisted process for the design and placement of multi-colored patterns on absorbent substrates using a limited number of transparent process colorants is described. Through use of this system, a designer, working with a computer-aided design system, can generate and accurately represent on a computer monitor or similar display a multi-colored pattern (25), as that pattern would ap pear on a specified absorbent substrate, using coloring elements comprised of groups of multiple pixels in which process colors have been mixed in a controlled manner to expand the range of available colors, and to compensate for colorant delivery limitations (55) that prevent the application of small, accurately metered quantities of colorant. Actuation instructions for a specific dye injection machine capable of patterning a moving textile substrate may be generated.
