Abstract:
In one example of the disclosure, a first area of an image to be printed at a first gloss level is identified. A second area of the image to be printed at a lesser second gloss level is identified. Printing of the image is caused in a gloss-varying printmode that applies a pretreatment fluid to a media where the second area is to be printed, and not where the first area is to be printed, and applies a colorant or colorants to the media where the first and second areas are to be printed.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and program products for managing digital production from one or more production devices with one or more sources providing inputs of production designs and/or production options are disclosed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for printing with multiple print settings are described herein. In one implementation, the method of printing with multiple print settings comprises receiving a job file indicative of a print assignment comprising a plurality of pages, wherein at least one of the plurality of pages has a different print setting. The method further comprises analyzing the job file to determine page settings for the each of the plurality of pages assignment. A print job is generated for printing each of the plurality of pages in accordance with the print setting and page settings associated with the each of the plurality of pages.
Abstract:
A system for identifying a print service provider including an input module to receive a requested print product intent and an identification module. The identification module collects production job data regarding a plurality of successfully produced print jobs and compares the collected production job data to the requested print product intent to identify matching print jobs and its associated print service provider. A reporting module reports the matching print jobs.
Abstract:
Limitations of conventional dimensional printing techniques are addressed to provide features and flexibility not presently available, including extracting images selectively from a Postscript® or PDF file and thus enable texturing of individual images within a page; constructing the texture automatically directly from the image using image processing techniques; visualizing the texture to be applied to an image via construction of a bump map or normal map in openGL and DirectX®; adjusting texturing parameters via visual feedback in openGL and DirectX®; and inserting a clear texture back into a PDF file for printing automatically.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates driverless printing. This system includes a discovery component configured to identify accessible printers and to facilitate selection of an accessible printer, wherein the discovery component is also configured to obtain capability information from accessible printers. The system also includes a transport component configured to transport data to the selected printer, wherein the transport component is also configured to obtain capability information from the selected printer. Finally, the system includes a page-description-language component configured to generate printer data for the selected printer based on obtained capability information for the selected printer.
Abstract:
A method is designed for printing on regular digital printers of a coding pattern consisting of code symbols. In the method, a character-based representation of the coding pattern is obtained, wherein the code symbols are represented by characters according to a character definition set. A definition identifier is gernerated to identify the character definition set. The definition identifier is specific to the morphology of the coding pattern or to the printing job. Finally, a print module is caused to print the coding pattern based on the character-based representation, the character definition set and the definition identifier.
