    摘要: A method and composition are provided for coating a component to achieve colon-targeted delivery. A component is coated with a fructose-based non-digestible carbohydrate such as a inulin, fructo-oligosaccharide or neosugar. The coated component is orally administered to a monogastric animal. The non-digestible coating causes the composition to pass through the stomach and small intestine without being degraded, and delivers the component to the colon where the coating is digested by microbial fermentation and the component is released.

    摘要: Dry plant base products for example, fat extracted meals as a result of processing soybean, canola (rapeseed), sunflower, cottonseed, peanut and other seeds, whole seeds such as peas, beans, and cereal grains, plant based by-products such as rice bran, wheat bran, corn gluten meal, and all other plant based products used in diet formulation, is combined with high moisture animal, plant or microbial by-products, for example animal by-products such as macerated portions or whole carcasses from animals such as fish, poultry, swine or cattle and by-products of the dairy industry such as whey; plant by-products such as corn gluten meal and corn gluten feed; and microbial by-products such as distillers thins from the brewing and distilling industries. The mixture is treated with phytase to dephytinize the plant based products. Optionally, a chelating agent can be added to improve the efficiency of the reaction.

    摘要: Rural biomass and other cellulosic materials are converted to a protein-enriched animal feed supplement or to single-cell protein by a series of bio-reactions. A first stage bio-reaction is a solid substrate bio-reaction. Enzymes, such as cellulase, produced by the first-stage bio-reaction are added to a second-stage bio-reaction. Raw second-stage bio-reaction feedstock is pretreated to hydrolyze hemicellulose and/or to partially digest starch in the feedstock. In the second-stage bio-reaction, the feedstock is substantially digested and single-cell protein is harvested in an aerobic bio-reaction, while ethanol is produced in an anaerobic reaction. Products of the invention can serve as feed supplements to enhance protein content of animal feed.
