L'invention concerne en particulier un procédé de préparation d'allophanate par réaction d'un (ou plusieurs) isocyanate(s) avec un monoalcool comprenant une fonction éther ou polyéther, la réaction étant catalysée par un composé contenant du bismuth.

The invention relates to a process for the multilayer coating of substrates, in particular vehicle bodies and vehicle body parts, comprising the steps: 1. applying a filler layer of a filler coating composition onto an optionally pre-coated substrate, 2. applying a base coat layer of a water-based base coat coating composition containing color-imparting and/or special effect-imparting pigments onto the filler layer, 3. applying a clear coat layer of a transparent clear coat coating composition onto the base coat layer and 4. curing the clear coat layer, optionally together with the filler layer and/or the base coat layer, wherein the filler coating composition being an organic solvent-based coating composition comprising: A) at least one binder with functional groups containing active hydrogen, B) at least one polyisocyanate cross-linking agent with free isocyanate groups and C) at least one epoxy-functional silane of the general Formula (I): X denoting the residues with m being 1-4, or epoxy cyclohexyl, R1, R2, R3 mutually independently meaning identical or different organic residues with 1 to 30 carbon atoms per molecule, providing that at least one of the residues is an alkoxy group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms and n is 2, 3 or 4.

The invention is directed to water-based compositions, in particular coating compositions, comprising A) a polyisocyanate component comprising at least one polyiscocyanate compound with free isocyanate groups, B) a binder component comprising at least one water-dilutable binder with functional groups which are capable of entering into a crosslinking reaction with the isocyanate groups of the isocyanate compound, C) at least one pigment and D) at least one complexing agent. The water-based composition preferably contains from 0.001 to 1 % by weight, particularly preferably 0.01 to 0.5 % by weight, of the at least one complexing agent, based on the total amount of the water-based composition.

The present invention is directed to novel organometallic complexes as catalysts for the reaction of compounds with isocyanate and hydroxyl functional groups to form urethane and/or polyurethane and the process employing such catalysts. More particularly, the present invention is directed to novel complexes of zinc(II) with substituted amidines. These novel catalysts are useful for the production of urethanes and polyurethanes which are important in many industrial applications.

The present invention provides a protective article comprising (a) a flexible substrate having opposed first and second major surfaces; and (b) pressure-sensitive adhesive arranged on at least one of the major surfaces, thereby defining an adhesive surface, wherein the adhesive is discontinuous defining adhesive regions and non-adhesive regions. The average coating weight of the adhesive is between 0.2 to 15.0 g/m 2 and the protective article has a 180° peel adhesion of between about 2 and about 500 g/in. The article according to the present invention can be used to protect a surface, such as that adjacent to a food preparation area. In addition, a method of manufacturing the protective article is provided.

There is described a removable pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) composition suitable for applying to protective film used to cover sensitive substrates (such as glass or LCD displays in mobile phones and the like), the PSA comprising: i) 70 to 90% w/w 5 of a hydroxyl functionalized acrylic polymer (such as 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (EHA), n-butyl acrylate (BA), hydroxy ethyl acrylate (HEA) and hydroxy ethyl methacrylate (HEMA); ii) 10 to 30% w/w of a polyether polyol (such as polypropylene glycol (PPG) and/or polyethylene glycol (PEG)); and iii) 2 to 10% of a polyfunctional isocyanate (such as poly diphenylmethane di-isocyanates (MDI) and/or poly toluene di-isocyanates (TDI). Components i), ii) iii) can be mixed together in the same vessel at room temperature: The PSAs have good removability (ultra low peel) and also good wetability.

Die Erfindung beschreibt eine Homogenisierdüse (100) umfassend ein Gehäuse (10), einen entlang der Längsachse des Gehäuses (10) verschiebbar angeordneten Kolben (11), einen ersten Einlass (14) für eine erste Komponente, einen zweiten Einlass (15) für eine zweite Komponente sowie einen Auslass (16) für ein homogenisiertes Gemisch aus der ersten und zweiten Komponente, wobei der erste Einlass (14) und der Auslass (16) entlang der Längsachse des Gehäuses (10) derart angeordnet sind, dass durch Verschieben des Kolbens (11) der freie Querschnitt des ersten Einlasses (14) und der freie Querschnitt des Auslasses (16) variierbar sind. Ferner wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer wässrigen Zweikomponenten-Polyurethan-Lackemulsion durch Vermischen wenigstens einer Isocyanatreaktive Gruppen aufweisenden, wässrigen Bindemitteldispersion und eines Polyisocyanats unter Verwendung der Homogenisierdüse beschrieben.

The invention provides novel isocyanate-based compounds. Such novel compounds can be used in essentially all applications where conventional isocyanate-based compounds are employed. In other words, the novel isocyanate-based compounds can be used in the making of liquid and powder coating compositions, adhesives, rigid and moldable plastics and foams. The isocyanate-based compounds of the present invention include a polyfunctional isocyanate compound which is at least partially blocked with at least one of the following: a polyhydroxy aromatic compound, or a mixture of a polyhydroxy aromatic compound and a hydroxy-functional ester compound. The present invention further provides compositions which include the aforementioned novel isocyanate-based compound as a component. These compositions can be in the form of liquid coating compositions, powder coating compositions, powder slurry coating compositions, plastic compositions, adhesive compositions, or polymeric foam compositions.
