摘要： The invention provides a method of preparing a stable enzyme-thinned starch dispersion characterized by a selected degree of thinning including the steps of: (a) combining a derivatized granular starch with an alpha-amylase enzyme to form a starch/enzyme slurry; (b) passing said starch/enzyme slurry through a jet cooker under conditions selected to gelatinize the starch; (c) treating the starch/enzyme slurry to complete gelatinization and achieve the selected degree of thinning such that the concentration of starch hydrolyzate product having a molecular weight greater than 1,000,000 daltons is 5 % or greater; and (d) deactivating the enzyme.

摘要： A thermosetting composition comprising a co-reactable solid, particulate mixture of (a) beta-hydroxyalkylamide cross-linking agent, e.g., bis(N,N-di-2-hydroxyethyl)adipamide, and (b) polycarboxylic acid functional polymer, is described. The polycarboxylic acid functional polymer is prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization and has well defined polymer chain architecture and polydispersity index of less than 2.5. The thermosetting compositions of the present invention have utility as powder coatings compositions.

摘要： A water-based surface-treating agent for metallic materials which gives a film highly satisfactory in corrosion resistance, blackening resistance, wet secondary adhesion to topcoatings, low-pollution characteristics (amount of fixed chromium), chemical resistance (especially acid resistance and alkali resistance), etc., while retaining the intact practical liquid stability of conventional chromate-containing resinous coating agents. The water-based surface-treating agent comprises a synthetic resin emulsion and hexavalent chromium ions and has a pH of 5 or lower, the synthetic resin emulsion being one obtained by emulsion-polymerizing the following ingredients using a nonionic polymerizable emulsifier and a nonionic nonpolymerizable emulsifier: (1) an ethylenic carboxylic acid, (2) a functional acrylic monomer having at least one of N-((un)substituted methylol)carbamoyl, phosphonate, alkoxy, cyano, and carbamoyl groups, and (3) a third monomer which is different from the ingredients (1) and (2) and forms the skeleton of the copolymer to be obtained.

摘要： Reaction products have more than 1,500 molecular weight and are produced by reacting: A) fats having 1 to 10, preferably 1.5 to 6 units of at least one of the functional groups -OH, -COOH, -SH, -NH2, -C=C-, an epoxide group or an acid anhydride group in the fat radical, the fat containing at least 1 % by moles of at least three-functional fats, with B) at least one mono- or multifunctional compound capable of reacting with the functional groups of the fats. The reaction products are preferably dispersed as liquids in water. These binders are suitable for coating, sealing and binding, in particular gluing, alone or combined with known glues and polymer dispersions. Glue dispersions, pressure-sensitive masses, universal glues and glue sticks may in particular be produced from these binders.
