Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wireless power transfer and particularly wireless power transfer to remote systems such as electric vehicles. In one aspect the disclosure provides for an apparatus for wirelessly transmitting power. The apparatus includes a first conductive structure configured to generate a first magnetic field in response to receiving a first time-varying signal from a power source. The apparatus includes a second conductive structure configured to generate a second magnetic field in response to receiving a second time-varying signal from the power source. The first and second structures are positioned to maintain a substantial absence of mutual coupling between the first and second magnetic fields.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an inductive pick-up arrangement (1) to be mounted on an electric vehicle which shall be operated with electric energy produced by the arrangement by magnetic induction, wherein the arrangement (1) comprises a pick-up portion (2) comprising at least one electric inductance for receiving a magnetic field and for producing the electric energy, a mounting portion (3) to be mounted on the vehicle, at least one actuator (4) for actuating movement of the pick-up portion (2) relative to the mounting portion (3), wherein the mounting portion (3) and the pick-up portion (2) are moveably connected to each other by at least one connecting portion (5), wherein a vertical position of the pick-up portion (2) can be varied by the actuator (4), wherein the actuator (4) comprises a prolongable section (7) which can be prolonged and shortened by operating the actuator (4), wherein the prolongable section (7) comprises a first operating state in which the prolongable section (7) is shorter than in a second operating state, so that the vertical position of the pick-up portion (2) is higher in one of the first and second operating states than in the other of the first and the second operating states, wherein the connecting portion (5) allows transforming a movement of the prolongable section (7) in a horizontal direction or substantially horizontal direction into a movement of the pick-up portion (2) in the vertical direction.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed for charging a vehicle in a wireless power transfer system. In one aspect, a method of charging a vehicle is provided, including determining distances between the vehicle and each of a plurality of charging stations. The method further includes selectively communicating, based on the distances, with a first charging station of the plurality of charging stations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a secondary transformer unit (10) for placing on a vehicle (11) with an electric drive, comprising at least one secondary core (12) having an upper side (14) and a lower side (15) which define the secondary core (12) in the z direction; at least one secondary coil (13) which is arranged on the secondary core (12); said secondary core (12) comprising at least one desired deformation means (16) which extends essentially in the z direction between the upper side (14) and the lower side (15).
Abstract:
A wireless energy transfer enabled battery includes a resonator that is positioned asymmetrically in a battery sized enclosure such that when two wirelessly enabled batteries are placed in close proximity the resonators of the two batteries have low coupling.
